Optics planet experiences??

I bought two scopes and both had problems. They never answer the phone or call back when you leave a message.
I had to call Visa to file a dispute to get my money back. I would not recommend them.

My experience with opticsplanet has been OK,... for the most part...
But I have to go through opticsplanet.ca and can only buy things that are not riflescopes because riflescopes are regulated under ITAR.

But I ordered rings and bases a handful of times.

One problem I had was when I ordered a 20moa base they shipped me a 0moa base.

Otherwise the other items were good and very good prices.

I'll order from them again if they have what I need at a good price.

I was looking for a good scope to put on my new edgun pcp air gun, and noticed that optics planet had the sightron STAC 4-20 x 50 scopes marked way down to $379 with free shipping. Couldn't resist so I had to grab one up before they sold out. Bought it yesterday morning and recieved a confirmation number and still have not recieved a shipping notice letting me know it's shipped. Anyone else have any experience with this outfit?

I've bought quite a bit from them and my only complaint is their product descriptions deserve a quick fact check. Take the model number of the item and check the specs on the manufacturer's website.

They discount you further if you spend enough with them.

Not everything gets shipped the very next day but the low prices make patience worthwhile.

Have purchased scopes and binoculars in the past from them and gotten good service. I ordered 2 streamlight flashlights, batteries, and chargers on 12-14, supposedly in stock. They did not ship items for 9 days. Needless to say, did not make it for Xmas. When I called them to find out when the items would be shipped, I got excuses and double talk. I still have not received the batteries and chargers, although they show shipped on their website over 8 days ago. I will never order from them again. They are not the company they used to be. Run for cover and buy somewhere else. Unless you like long delays, excuses, and lack of customer service!

I had 3 good purchases from them then the next three internet orders that showed in stock items charged me then showed as backordered. Most places don't charge if it's not in stock... they did, then kept showing it in stock on several websites. They kept giving BS dates for shipping and I gave up on them. Eventually got refunded after 7 weeks of waiting.
Won't shop there any more.
Their website has horrible specs on products if you are trying to get weight, diameter, elevation, power, etc. I don't think we should patronize outlets that don't know their products enough to list useful information. That is considered basic knowledge.

I quit using them too.
I've always had problems with them getting in stock items shipped in a timely fashion.
They have lied to me on several back orders too so I canceled them.
Last order I placed was in stock and it took them 9 days to ship and another 6 days to be delivered because of the crappy Fedex Smart Post that they use.

Will probably use them next time then. Shipping says delivery in 7 days. I don't expect value shipping to be here in 2 days, but 7 days is crazy.

Then buy something from Brownell's/Sinclair. I've gone as long as three days without getting a tracking number. And that is after taking two days for them to assign an order number to my order. Then it usually takes a week after the tracking number for it to get on the front porch.
Thing is, I pay $50 a year for Edge to get treated that way!
Optics Planet is a place I can almost always find what no one else has and at a decent price. Never had an issue with them.

I had an issue with their customer service. I ordered a pair of Pro Ears hearing muffs. It didn't have the input jack that I needed so I sent them back and ordered the more expensive set. I got five of them and none of them even had the right style batteries in the box. Those were at $200 a pop. I finally ended up sending them all back and ordering the Pro Ears direct from Pro Ears after spending time on the phone trying to get it all straightened out. I'll order elsewhere from now on.

Ordered a few times and had bad experiences each time. SLOW, NO COMMUNICATION and zero customer service. I don't even consider them any longer.

Another place to consider is SportOptics.com. I have made several purchases from them in the last year or so and have been very pleased. When I got my Sig Kilo2200 last December I could have gotten it for a bit less from Cabelas, but I ordered it from SportOptics one day and received it the next. That would not have happened with anyone else. For what it is worth, I don't normally search for the "best" deal but shop where the price is reasonable and I know I will get good service. If I pay a few dollars more but get good service and am dealing with knowledgeable people then I don't mind the extra cost for the better service. I have had retail businesses and I know how difficult it is to compete against large discounters based solely on price. FWIW, I don't shop at WalMart either. I will always support the smaller community based business over any national chain.

They have an economy type shipping that's free. The only downfall is, it takes 14-23 days to ship from the store. Just purchased an item that WAS in stock and looking at the availability option on my reciept, says estimated shipping 14-23 days. Free but still a slight cost !
