What did you kill this fall, and what did you use?

are you using pint , or quart jars ? thanks Jim
I use both. The recipes to use with can deer meat seem to be endless. It's also surprising that when the jars are packed tight, how few jars you get out of a 125 lb. deer ( less back straps and tenderloin ). My son has left the nest so it's just 3 of us. Pint jars seem to be better for a small family. Quarts work better for a hunting camp supper where there are hungry men about not in a mood for a salad.

First hunting season since coming back from Iraq. Shot a big doe with my custom built AR. Got an itchy trigger finger and didn't notice the monster buck right behind her. I swear he laughed at me as he ran through the woods...definitely missed Georgia.

Busy day in the woods. A lot of activity. The gentleman who lets me hunt his property when I'm on leave told me to shoot any predators that I might see. So I got this fox that came out. Oddly enough, a second fox came out 2 hours later, but I just couldn't pull the trigger. I figure one is enough.

Good for you and thank you for your service. I just have to comment that this is a great example of ONE reason ARs and semi-autos should be allowed for deer in the backward state of Pennsylvania. Our young servicemen and servicewomen are familiar and proficient with these types of firearms and there's no reason they should be banned from use. The misguided notion that there will be a bunch of pray and spray hunters out and about is ridiculous and without any basis in fact. On the contrary, those that deny their usage have fallen in to the same trap as the anti-gun left, that these are BAD guns and shouldn't be owned by ANYONE.

2 nice Missouri does so far, both with my Tikka 300WM loaded with IMR4350 and 165gr sierra gamekings. first 2 deer since I got my suppressor, Omega, and all I can says is... wow. I suggest everyone support the hearing protection act ASAP.

two does, a whitey and a mulie. Steyr Pro hunter 6.5 x 55 with the 140gr Hornday Interlock with 47gr of Reloader 22. and for my rest I used a Product called a MaxBox, the most fantastic field rest ever developed. As a 60 year old man I'm just not very steady any more aand laying my rifle in this dense foam rest gave me 100% confidence that my aim was going to be true both shots. FS

I farm for a living, while i do deer hunt i primarily hunt for wood chucks, i get more enjoyment during the fall helping friends and family that hunt on our farm when ever they get something, I am generally the first one they call because i have the best means of getting there game out of where ever it is. Much more satisfying to me to see them having an adrenaline high from getting something. My self how ever, i had a miss hap happen with a freshly new ar build in 450 bushmaster ( we are 1 mile away from rifle territory here in MI) and missed the biggest buck i have ever seen coming out of a field of corn my dad was running :(:eek:... not in the best spirits for a while after that, how ever there has so far been 4 bucks and 3 doe taken off different places of our land this year.
