Well I made it... Retired Today

Congratulations, I made the move on the 9th of May this year. I'm sure enjoying mine and going bow hunting tomorrow afternoon. Now I can hunt or fish when ever I want. And don't have to wait for the weekend to hunt.

I am 58, will be 59 in February. I feel blessed to get to retire now! 4 grandkids to chase around !

I worked 15mos after 65, when I finally went in, HR guy said he was expecting it, no bosses around, they'd all taken off to a meeting out of town. What he wasn't expecting was, when, I was leaving, this was 8;00AM, I said 4;00PM today, thank you. Main reason I went in was mask regs being implemented the next week, said no thanks to that, already worked 9 mos at a parts counter, at a heavy truck dealer, without.
Really was a great feeling, oldest salesman there went the same day, talked to him after he'd sent out his e-mail, said guess that makes two of us today, we had a good laugh about that. Haven't regretted a minute since.

I retired two years ago at 57 myself. It took a while to get used to, but after that first fifteen minutes it is the best feeling ever! Every day is Saturday. Some mornings I get up and just giggle.

Thanks guys, I live 10 minutes from Fall Creek Falls state park golf course, they have a Wednesday morning league so I’m headed to play with those guys this morning! Someone has to do it

I walked out yesterday, looked back and was thankful for having a steady job to raise my family but it kinda felt like a chain had been cut off from around my ankle. It’s a great feeling!

Retired today after 31 years in a Bridgestone tire factory where we made semi truck tires.
Chapter 1 is closed, now for Chapter 2 !

I retired December of 2020 after over 30 years of being self employed, it was an adjustment for sure. I worked a job that wasn't a bore and something I had invested myself into but the growing mass stupidity was more than I could continue to bear!

Family, shooting, photography and reading, along with a side of no worries suits me fine!
