No, I agree with you. The NRA States they are leaving New York. The Thread's title is sourced from the NRA themselves. They are misrepresenting the entire self-inflicted debacle to their advantage. More subterfuge and BS. I did not renew this year. The calls and e-mail barrage stopped after a phone call. I throw some money at the Second Amendment Foundation and the California Rifle and Pistol Association. All the cool toys and sport we enjoy won't be worth a damn penny if we lose the rights we have. Hang in there -You're asking me, but I never commented on the political or administrative aspects of NRA's maneuvering. This thread's title is somewhat ambiguous in saying "moving to Texas" but several posts allude to the NRA literally packing up and moving its headquarters from NY to TX. I just feel obligated to point out the fact that the NRA has been headquartered in Fairfax, VA since before many reading this were born, and will still be in Fairfax, VA after many reading this are deceased. How am I wrong?

Thanks, not surprised I read your comment wrong. After Clinton's idiotic 1994 law was passed, I became an NRA Life Member for I think only $700. They've never gotten another penny from me since, although for many years I had an NRA Visa card that sent a few cents their way every time I used it (not out of my pocket.)No, I agree with you. I have been a life member of the NRA, and proud to be, since I could afford the fee,,,,40 years and counting. I was a youth hunter safety instructor for 25 years and a home safety instructor for 10. I have seen generation after generation of young men and women go through the safety courses and go on to become happy and healthy outdoors folks, hunting, fishing and shooting. I belong to a rifle club that got a huge NRA range improvement grand 4 years ago. ALL OF THAT is the NRA. In the 1970s there was a purge of leadership that needed to happen and Harlon Carter took over and got the organization back on track. Maybe that will happen again. But stop bashing the heart and soul of the NRA....it isn't the leadership, the NRA is us, the members who have benefited tremendously from their focus on training, shooting and defending the second amendment from mindless idiots who would just as soon snuff you out as not. Thanks, not surprised I read your comment wrong. I agree, he's got to go! BUTWLP need to be removed. The Board of Directors MUST take over the Association.
WLP's salary is $6M/ yrI saw a while ago its in the 1 million range.
Mine too, the F Class High Power and NRA Pistol sanctioned by the NRA, F Class didn't turn scores in last year because the NRA didn't update, not sure what we are doing this year.our local gun club forces us to renew NRA membership to renew or become a member of the club
Good!our local gun club forces us to renew NRA membership to renew or become a member of the club
Our club does not. It is a recommendation, and encouraged, but not a requirement. There is a cost differential - a non-NRA member pays higher dues. One of the requirements for membership in the Tomball Gun Club is NRA membership.
I have no problem with this.
I agree with thatWay back when the NRA was founded in 1871, it made some sense to incorporate in NY. The center of the population was near there. The national championships were held at Sandy Hook right across from NYC. The founders were two New Yorkers. So it made sense then. It no longer makes sense.
I can promise you that without the nra the libs would kill the second amendment and if you know anything about history every country that took over citazans freedoms they disarmed the people first. So anyone that wants to stay free had better hang onto their guns and tell the libs to go straight to hell. And to do that you need the nraTurn the ship around? Weren't they founded in 1871? Is that not enough time?
Yes, more than hyperbolic, but with the influx of cash they had during the Obama years and the Hilary scare there is literally no excuse for their financial ineptitude. The lack of financial clarity is also more than a little disturbing.
With that said, I will be a member going forward if for no other reason than what they provide.... mainly lobbying power, is exactly what we'll need the next 4 years. Who knows after that but with all the pending House Resolutions we're screwed without them!
This. I dont get it either know a few older guys in the club I shoot with sometimes says same thing.I have opened a few eyes with the accuracy of the AR platform though, some cant belive how accurate this platform can be,of course like anything else junk in junk out lol.Guess they have seen to many pray and spray types lol...WE as a group better start sticking together because the Opposition sure will...I can understand peoples distain for WLP over the money and organization.
But, what I don't understand is gun owners/shooters, etc. that feel that you have
no business owning an AR15. We have these people in our club that feel this way.
They hate the NRA, not because of Wayne LaPierre, but because the NRA fights for our right
to own a AR15 or similar firearm. If we don't stick together we are screwed !
