Welcome to the Reloading Forum -- Introduce Yourself

Hello all, new here to this forum been lurking for a while and learning alot. My name is Ron I live in Demopolis AL, I have been shooting and hunting since I was old enough to pull a trigger. I just started shooting competitively 3 years ago. A good friend of mine who has been shooting competition for years got me into rimfire benchrest and it has snowballed from there, I now shoot long range tactical and I'm starting to shoot centerfire benchrest, and air rifle benchrest. I look forward to posting and reading more .

Good shooting,

Ron

Hi All,
I have been reading posts here for some time and I want to thank everyone for being so helpful. I am a dedicated varmint hunter and reloader. I shoot/reload for 22-250,450 Marlin,22-Hornet,223,7mm RUM,.44 Mag. Also in the process of having a 6x47 Lapua built. I travel out west to P-Dog hunt every year and would like to meet other Dog hunters so feel free to email me and exchange experiences.

Thanks Everyone!

Hello to one and all. I have actually been visiting this website quite frequently over the last five years or so and finally decided to join. I am one day hoping to get into competitive level shooting, both from the bench as well as with handguns and military marksmanship programs. I have been reloading for over 16 years know, but I still learn new things all the time. I am a member of the NRA as well as the ISRA. I vote according to my gun rites as well as anything else, and try my best to get my friends who own guns to do the same. Except for sabot slug rounds for use in my bolt action slug guns, I have not bought any other factory made ammunition in over 15 years, as I reload everything I can.

I am looking forward to increasing my knowledge of reloading and all things firearm while participating at this website.

Again, greetings to all.
Arthur.

Hello,
New to the board been lurking for a while and finally managed to get a 6mmBR on a savage action.I'm also new to the whole reloading deal. By the way Great site lots of good info and I would like to thank everyone in advance for all the usefull info I'm sure to find here.

Hi I'm Johnny, I live in SE Wisconsin. I have been reloading rifle cases for about 10 years now. I started with big bore .458 Win. and am now down to the 22's. I recently purchased a Ruger #1 in 22 PPC and a CZ in .221FB. I got onto this site as I am thinking of getting a bench rifle. Not sure what I want. But something to shoot one hole groups. Maybe you guys can steer me in the right direction. What rifle, what cartridge.

Johnny, If you want to shoot 100 and 200 yds. the PPC is the way to go. 500 and 600 yds. would be better served by something like a 6 X 47, 6.5 X 47, 6 X .284, 6BR, 6.5 Grendel, 6mmAR, and/or several other 6mm wildcats, and 1000 yds. probably would be a 6.5
X .284 of my choice anyway. I hope this helps. Bill

Hey to everyone, this site is great!
I'm from South Ga. and have a 6br made on a M70 action with a Hart 1-8" #5 taper barrel. Good Shooting, Sid

Hey guys I'm Fred,I'm a hunter that got into big fat eastern groundhog shooting and got bit by the reloading bug this will be my fourth season and my range is always increasing.
Started with a 22-250 upgraded to a 220 swift and before that was broken in i had to run out and buy a .243 win after finding this board. The great thing about groundhog hunting is getting onto a new farm 200-300 yard shots big numbers and spectacular kills, then the hogs catch on and before you know it 500 yard plus shots become the norm kill #s go down but the pride felt when you do connect is out of this world.

Hello,
This is one of the best sites I have run across.I am new to reloading.I am loading 223 and 308 among others.I am sure I will have many questions.

Hello, my name is Jim. I got involved in shooting about 3yrs. ago and have recently started shooting 1000yd BR. competitively in NC. This site has given me much helpful advice for both my custom 6.5x284 and a cooper 308 witch I have done well with in competition thanks to the very well informed people here. Thanks Jim

Hi, I have been checking this website regularly for about a year, reading posts and articles and generally learning the ropes of competitive shooting. I don't know why I didn't register sooner? I guess because I am so active on Savageshooters.com

I hope to begin trying my hand at f-class shooting after working up some loads for my Savage 12 Single shot and the new Shilen 7mm WSM 9 twist select match barrel I'm putting on it. I will be using a B&C Medalist stock,#2999)and a Burris Black Diamond 8-32X. I figure this should get me started.

I am located way out in the country in Upstate NY, about 30 miles from Cooperstown.

Hey everyone, I'm brand new to reloading. I'm about 24 hours away from loading my first rounds for the .25-06. I'm not a BR shooter, just a hunter who wants to make his deer rifles sing. However, I like the meticulous approach taken by the competetive shooters on this board, and I think I can learn a lot here.

My name is David. I live in Bullhead City, AZ across the Colorado River from Nevada. I have shot and reloaded for a long time for fun. I retired last year and I decided to modify my 7mm Remington mag Rem 700 and try to shoot some F Class at Boulder City, Nev,about an hour and a half from here). I happen to go into a local gun shop that had a new Savage F Class 6.5-284 on the shelf so I bought it,there my allowance for few months). Will hopefully be be able to get some good reloading info and meet some fellow shooters on this forum. Nice to meet ya' .
David

My name is Zech - but I've gone by "tx_shooter" on many forums. I picked up my long range shooting habit in the Marine Corps and carried it over to the civilian life when I got out a couple years ago.

While I'm not a "bench rest shooter", I am a reloader for all of my two months now and I do shoot long ranges with accurate guns, so the two disciplines are kin. Other than that, I'm just looking to get any tips or teachings that will make my rifle/ load more accurate and maybe help with a topic that I know about along the way.

Thanks,

Zech

My name is Robert,Beto ) and I recently retired from the Post Office.I've been reloading since 1971 and have several wildcats. I'd like sharing information about one in particular- the .22X6mm Imp. I'm getting fairly good accuracy out of my Pac Nor 28 inch tube but I feel it should be much better. Also, I purchased some RL25 but am not sure it would be any better than RL22 which is what I've been using.

Hi I'm Chuck and I have quite a few wild cats. I don't shoot any bench rest but we shoot some long range tactical. My daughter and I build rifles,Mac's Gunworks), man what a kid.
We are into alot of 6.5mm and the chey-tac rounds, however we do build alot of hunting rifles and a few for the bench.
Best of luck to all,
Chuck

Hi,
My name is Robert. I currently own three wildcats- a.220 Ackley Imp., a.22x6mm Ackley Imp. and a .25x.308 Norma Magnum. The one I favor most is the .22x6mm Imp. It has a one in 8 twist on a 28 inch Pac Nor barrel and a Jewell trigger set at 2 oz. I'm getting 3700fps with a Hornady 75 gr. bullet. As for the .25x .308 Norma mag. I am getting 3750 with a heavy load of IMR7828. I am somewhat disappointed with the.220 Imp. because basically I seem to be getting what I was getting before improving the round. I went to South Dakota and took the .220 and the .22x6mm and popped some praire dogs with them and really had fun doing it. Does anyone have a recipe for any of these rounds using RL25 ? I just bought some and am looking for something to load it in.
