Welcome to the Reloading Forum -- Introduce Yourself

Dan from Las Vegas. Love the forum. I like to play with new loads and work with friends on load development for their rifles.

David here from Frisco, TX. Just getting into to reloading. I've been looking around this site for some time. Lot's of great information.

Greetings everyone!

Robin here from Columbia, SC. Been a SASS cowboy shooter for some time and have jumped with both feet into reloading. Have a Dillon 650 for my pistol rounds, but am embarking on a very educational path for understanding and (hopefully) mastering precision rifle reloading.. . . with a Redding T-7 ++

My only bolt action is a brand new Remington 20" 1:10 twist .308, bedded to an Accuracy International 2.0 stock. Yep, began with something nerdy fun, but not competitive ;)

I expect to be posting mostly in the reloading section, as there are no real BR events locally except for rimfire. And since this is a hunting state most ranges only reach out to 100 or maybe 200 yards (alas).

Still a great place though. Hope you are well and see ya on the boards!

Howdy all. Been reading this forum since I've recently entered into F Class shooting. I've been reloading for many years, but hadn't needed the extreme accuracy until now. I've learned a lot so far, even ordered some more precise equipment to get the job done right. Still working on load development for this new rifle, but preliminary results have been good.

Hi all Forum members,
I am glad to join the forum as I have a range of matters that I would like to discuss. I am sure that the vast knowledge and experience that is available will come in very handy. I am not new to hunting as I have been hunting since my early teens. Reloading has been a highly stimulating experience to me and maybe we will be able to share experiences and ideas. Thanks for the opportunity.
Johan Nothling.

Hi gang, I found this site via Accuratereloaders.com. I have been reloading for better than 30 yrs. and hunting for many before that. Guess I am saying that I am now a senior. Good 'nuff! I reload for my 17 Rem., 22BR, 22-250, .243, 260AI, 6.5x284, 280AI, 30-06, .357 mag. and my .41 mag. Also all of my shotgun shells. Cannot remember buying factory cartridges in the near past. Albeit I have spent a few $$$$ on reloading components and equipment. Anyway, looking forward to the input from this forum. MTG

Hi all, I posted an intro on the general section, before seeing this post.
My name is Thomas and I hope to find some answers to questions I have.
Been reloading since 1974, started with handguns, now I'm into my rifles.
Have a good one!

Hello from sunny Minnesota! Sunny but 30 degrees :-\ Found this forum while researching an RCBS scale I bought, used, from another gun club member. I am just getting started in reloading and am happy to find this site. I am sure I will find loads of information here that will be useful to me.

Hello from WNC, been reloading for 16yrs, for all my rifles. Old shcool BR shooter, but getting into the LR hunting hobby. Been working with OCW loads, in my new 243 sps, rem 20" 5R, 700 vssfII, in 22/250, 223, 6.8spc etc. I have lots of info to help, esp in the rem 700, and AR platforms.
I have had 3 custom rigs built, and just sold 1 BAT, Mcm A5, Shilen trigger, bartlein brrl to fund a more practical build, and to my surprise the Rem 5R shoots just as good as custom rigs I have sold. Looking to learn much more, and hopefully share some info. I do some AR upper builds, custom painting stocks etc. look forward to it. Cheers from the tarheel state. heres some of my sticks.

Hello...I'm a newbie to the forum. I've been a rifleman and reloader for nearly five decades. My primary interest is varmint/predator rifles and handloads for them.

Hey everyone, looking forward to the info and ideas of everyone here. Just getting into long range hunting/shooting; hoping to get some tips for my 7mm.

Been reading the tech. articles on this site for a very long while. Time to join in on the forums. Most of the shooting at this point in my life involves competition targets; I'm past the age for tracking game through the woods and across the prairies. Recently acquired a 6br Norma and am working up loads with the hope of stretching accuracy out beyond 900 yards. The fun is in the process - or so I'm told. When I'm not playing with the 6br I also shoot a Remington 40X in .223 and a very nice 1903 Springfield. The .223 blasts squirrels and rarely misses and the Springfield is lots of fun on steel targets so boredom is not an issue around here.

Well, here's another one ------------ ;D

I'm an old shooter, both in age an experience, but am stepping up my activity level again lately.

I've been shooting since age 8, but reloading since about 19.

I've had a variety of guns, most notable (and dear) a 44 mag pistol, now on my 3rd one, a Redhawk.

I also got a 6mm 40XB years ago, maybe 1971, and have been having a good time with that in terms of accuracy. I get 4100 chronoed with a 60 grainer. My most memorable shot with this is a blackbird at 330 yards, barely a blip around the 12x crosshairs at that range that simply disappeared. I'm now working up loads for it with the 55gr Noslers.

I do shoot a .338 Win Mag on a Winchester post 70 action that I restocked with a Fajan laminated walnut that is quite an improvement over the original. It shoots a reliable 3/4" at 100, some of which is me, I'm sure.

I just got a 7mm WSM on a Browning A-Bolt action with very pretty wood, and I'm working up loads for that also.

All in all, I enjoy shooting and loading, and am looking forward to learning all I can from the members!

Hello everyone....Gerry Henderson here...I'm a bit long in the tooth also, and have been reloading/shooting since I was 6 years old and am still doing it 52 years later! My favorite little toy is a SAKO TRG42...in .338 Lapua Its topped with a set of Leupold 8.5x25x50 Mark4 eyes with a tactical milling crosshair...Yes, it will reach out and touch!

My current build is a .408 cheytac....I'm hunting some 419 gr. brass bullets if anyone has any leads on where to find any I'd certainly appreciate a reply. I'm going to use a Lawton Machine action and a Lijla barrel and I'm topping this project with a Schmidt-Bender 12.5x50x50...the barrel has a 1-13"twist and a McArthur PGRS1 muzzle brake.....any of you guys or gals out there shooting a .408 Cheytac I'd appreciate and welcome any suggestions......Thanks

Hey folks good to be here. I'm kinda new to long range rifle shooting, although I've been a hunter all my life. One good thing about living here in New Mexico is we have a lot of open range to find safe places to shoot at long distance.

"Froggie the Gremlin"? Wow!!! If you remember that you must be at least as old as I am. Perhaps we will find a time to share a shooting bench and swap tales of those days.
Welcome to the forum ... ;D

Hello All,
My name is Mac, I've been shooting since I was 8 (or for the past 23 years). I'm new to handloading for myself, but was introduced to the techniques long ago. I've kept some of the old rim-fire target rifles and pistols I used to train with, and now I have recently built an AR for F-class AR, and just started on accurizing a 30-06 hunting rifle to best that MOA mark, maybe even turn it into a tactical target rifle.

I used to work as a process engineer, but the process control has stuck with me, so in one simple summary to define my reloading methods, here is my brass prep procedure, all brass already sorted to +/- 1gr by case weight, and flash-holes deburred.

Wipe off sand/dirt from range, then decap using universal decapper.

Ultrasonic clean, 50/50 H2O and vinegar, with just a drop of dish soap.
Baking Soda to neutralize the acid, then rinse.
Leave out for 3-4 days to dry in sun, or garage.

Hornady One-shot spray Lube, then FL resize
my .223 I use a Precision Mic to dial in the head-space,
I'll get one for .222 and 30-06, but for now I use the bolt closing method.

Trim cases on RCBS trim pro 2 with motor.
Chamfer and deburr by hand (VLD tool if needed)
Prime with Lee Ergo-prime.

-Mac
