Vudoo Gun Works V-22 accuracy test by Eley

Some interesting info on the accuracy testing of the V-22 by Eley. Mike Bush from Vudoo posted this on Facebook and Snipers Hide and I thought some here would like to see it as well. I have a rifle on order from them and I am very excited to get it in. More so now after seeing this info and hearing the how well they speak of the V-22 after testing.

Here is his info:

Here's the results of the two best lots of Tenex from the Eley Test Facility. The date is listed as 05/10/17, but it must be metric for October 05, 2017.

In the second image, the Expected Score is a calculated 60 shot group based on the assumptions made from the 40 shot groups. The groups on the ISSC target are 40 shots and the Distribution of Scores is the location of shots relative to the 10 Ring. In the top graph, the multitude of shots were 10.4 and 10.6. Based on the rifles that go through the facility, Dan regards rifles that score 420 or higher to be among the most accurate. After testing the V-22, he regarded it as the most accurate Repeater he's ever tested as he commonly sees the Anschutz single shots with scores like this."

"There have been numerous questions about actual 40 shot group size. Looking at the top left group, in the lower right corner you'll see 13.3, that's the edge to edge group size in millimeters, which converts to .524". The center-to-center is .302"."

Dan Killough has wonderful facilities to test your rifle and different lots of ammo.

Nicely done rifles.
Know nothing about this aspect of rimfire, could sombody kindly explain why barrels tend to be so short?

It's a .22LR. Not a huge powder column so 16-20" barrel work fine. I like the 18" as it keeps the ammo subsonic for me so there are no transition from super to subsonic. Had some ammo that did that and it did not fair well when it did.

Got it. What started the curiosity was the initial test post using Tennex.
You guys use a variety of ammo or mostly match grade which I assume you know is mostly sub sonic.
The other reason I asked is that even with match grade barrels, the combustion is barely done by the time the slug hits the muzzle.
Mostly, simply did not know if these are done to certain specs or one can mix it up.
Again, thanks and nice rig.

Thought you were following this. Hope this will answer your question. The barrel started at 24.25" and the last figure is 14.5"

Yeah Butch, I follwed it when guys did it 20 years ago.
First, what exactly, from one CZ barrel do we learn??
My questions are related to accuracy. The test, you've been pounding on every forum in the known galaxy does'nt speak to that, and yes Saeed has a nice site but, Christ, give it a rest will.'ya.

Timmy, you asked about why a short barrel. This and other rimfire test like this would show the same. Don't matter if it is a CZ. What testing can you show that says a longer barrel is more accurate? What purpose does the barrel serve?

Do you know any rimfire benchrest gunsmiths ? Ever been within 50' of a benchrest 22 ?
Since they are based on pure accuracy alone, why do you think you'd rarely find one with a bbl less than 24" with some pushing 27"
Do you think maybe they now more than you.....unlikely as that seems.
Do you shoot rimfire matches anywhere, short barrel or not ?
Swing down to your buds at Shilen and pose the question as to how many top 22 BR smiths want short blanks.

Your a trip young feller. My last 2 22RF were built by Richard Gorham and Gene Davis. Don't know if you have heard of them. The one that Richard built has a Shilen Barrel that Ed took the time to pick the blank and lapped for me. I've never shot it yet, but will. The one gene did last year has a Bartlein gaintwist, left Hand twist, with 8 grooves. It is a cut rifled barrel. Those are my Tincan shooters.
Yeah my first rimfire BR rifle was a Suhl that I bought from Herb Gibson, then a very early Turbo, about 1996 or so, that old Speedy built, Then I had a 2007-2013 Anschutz BR rifle that belonged to Red Cornelison. It came from the factory with a 20" barrel. I only have 3 Mod 37 Remingtons left and that includes Mike Walkers personal mod 37. He shortened the barrel about 4".
By the way, Shilen sells 28" blanks and your smith or you determines the length.
Now back to my barrel cutting post, I don't believe any claims were made except the velocity at each barrel length. It was a fun test by Saeed to see the velocity changes for each barrel length and that is all. Did I say anything about accuracy, No I didn't. I have never claimed or shot a RF BR match.
I've been around them while you were still $hitting yellow though.

No...he got a pretty polite please and thank you, before your ignored bait and then yet another injection of less than relevent stuff.

Hey Timmy, I answered your questions. I won't mess up your thread further Rob. I do like your rifle

I’ve built many benchrest setups as well as more tactical rimfire trainers that you can shake a stick at. I’ve done Barrels from 16”-25” using many different makers Barrels. No matter the length they all where capable of the same level of accuracy. The difference I noticed was longer Barrels respond better to a tuner (benchrest setups) and also make for a heavier setup (easier imo to shoot better). No real difference in overall accuracy if you ask me.
