ELEY Announces Whidden Gunworks as Official Test Center

Aren't they planning to test multiple brands of ammo? If so I was thinking that it's a very good location with others on the other side of the country? Isn't the Lapua testing center, one of them, in Arizona?

"Uniquely, the center will be the only site in the US to offer testing of all the most recognized brands in one place. But, as a partner with ELEY, testing staff will be carefully trained to perform ELEY testing with our proven standards, test methodology, electronic targets and proprietary software."

Or is this just the most recognized Eley brands?
Eley, Lapua, RWS and Norma.

Please pardon my ignorance on this. Am I correct in saying that I could send or take a new rifle to this facility and they ( for a fee, of course ) test it with any number of common factory loads/brands at various bullet weights and determine what that particular gun/barrel shoots best? If so, could be a time and money saver, depending of course on their charge structure.
Yes.......22LR Rimfire..........Eley, Lapua, RWS and Norma.

Hopefully Capstone doesn't send a majority of Lapua to whidden while denying Clint, Cathy and other retailers from their fair share of future shipments.

Might be the opposite since they will be Eley's official test center. would be strange if they had more inventory then Clint and Cathy or even Brunos, Champions Choice.

Viewing the equipment lists from the ARA UL/Factory nationals, I don't think Lapua or Capstone has any worry about Eley over taking either in match ammo sales in the US of A. I'll bet the same applies at every
local ARA,ABRA, IR 50/50 or other type rimfire match around the country.

As my Dad use to say, some of you guys would complain you are hungry if you had a hog with all the guts slung out of it.

Whidden opening up a test center is nothing but good news. You can’t get into the Lapua centers for months if you needed to to save your life.

Plus, we know Whidden’s customer service is top level. What’s not to like? I look forward to them opening and getting started.

I will add, in this anti gun society, we need to support the proven good guys that strive to serve our addiction.

Hang on Now!!! I kinda like me some hog guts with the s**t slung out of it!!! o_O;):D:D:D

I don't know Mr. Whidden...but I sure hope he makes a go of it.

The facts are the two Lapua Test Centers probably do at least a thousand tests per year and each tester gets a case of ammo from his preferred dealer. My guess is that zero or near zero are using Whidden.

Bill, not sure where you read in my post, I thought Eley would have better ammo than Lapua. FYI, I been an advocate for Lapua for over 10 years as well as the Kevin Nevius chamber specs. back in 2016 I posted my test results. got a little snub from the RFBR community then as Eley still had some decent ammo.
in the last 5 years I have only seen Lapua's quality get better. here are my latest test results of Midas+ bought blind never shot in this rifle. straight out of the rifle case and shot these two targets. should be a 2400 & 2350.
as for Eley I hope they start to get better, so all of those buying Lapua will switch back to them;)

Hi-NV, we're working with shippers to offer a program where the customer doesn't have to go through an FFL. I expect it will come to pass once we get some details worked out.

We're calling this our Valet Shipping. You'll be able to go to our website, check the price, and choose this option if you'd like. We'll ship a case to you along with the shipping label, bubble wrap, even tape for the box. You put your gun in, attach the label, and put it in the hands of FedEx anywhere. When we're finished, we'll ship the rifle directly back to you.
