Vertical Where to start?

Any evidence of the cocking piece dragging on the trigger connector? Some black Magic Marker on the trigger connector can show this. -Al
Al, I will test that when the trigger is returned to me. Right now it is boxed up and heading to Dillon, MT.

Couple other things...are the replacement Panda springs from Kelbly's or another source? Also, what tool did you use to replace them? -Al

I hope you're on track to a solution, because your thread prompted me to reflect on and inspect my set up as I'd began getting vertical stringing with my .22lr shooting 100/200yd. This reminded me that in my hurried nature I'd added additional sand to my front bag a few months ago.

Today I inspected my rest and found that the post top surface where it mates to the bag base was loose even when torqued and allowed a slight amount of fore and aft rocking movement. Flat filing the post top and retorquing the fastener resolved the fitment issue.

Then I inspected the front bag and removed some sand, refit it, and removed some more sand.

My guess is the accuracy erosion I created will be restored and then some. o_O

The stock is too high and the piece with the rail should be removed. The weight distribution currently is not right.

I'm curious if you are annealing your brass or not. If you aren't annealing, are you seating bullets with some kind of force indicator? As brass work hardens, the force it grips the bullet with will generally lessen and can then become somewhat erratic. I have been able to correct vertical by increasing neck tension on both a 300 WSM and a Lapua 6.5x47.

Today I tested a new bullet and shot a couple 4" groups at 1K, all vertical. I wasn't surprised at the vertical because I only saw 12 PSI seating pressure when I loaded them up in a new set of test cases, it was just too late to address it. I'll be changing the bushing before the next test. I like to see around 22-24 PSI when I seat my 6mm's. I understand everyone's focus on fire control, and Alex is one of the best, but if that doesn't fix it...

Dave.
