6mm Creedmoor Where to Start?

What are you doing to them? What scope and rings? That's where I'm at now. I need decent rings for my vortex.
Also where are you finding ammo?
I am making my own ammo. I never buy retail ammo for anything unless it's ball ammo for training sessions with new shooters.

Rings you will need either a Cantilever Mount from any of the big suppliers or at least High rings, depending on the bell of your optic. I am running extra high rings just to get it off the rail a bit.

OK guys. New here and don't have a lot of knowledge on precision shooting. was in the army for 6 years and have hunted since a kid. Always shot well as far as hunting precision goes.

Anyway. i just bought a Ruger Precision 6mm Creed and to be quite honest i really don't know where to start. I haven't even fired it yet b/c i need to buy a scope for it, but needed to save a dime first. I also have no ammo for it. So once i have glass and bullets where do i start? I live in Northeast PA. there are a few 300 yard ranges around. figure i'd zero at 100 and go from there. I don't however know how to go about getting this thing dialed in and shooting tight groups.

I've just recently started reloading some of my .223 ammo for my AR and .270 and .30-30 for hunting. that is by no means precision. I don't know where to start. i've read so many threads on here that my head is spinning.

Bi-Pod?
Rests?
Factory Ammo or load new?
Barrel break in?
Ect.

Any help would be very much appreciated.
Whatcha got for bullets, powder, etc? What scope, curious?

If you come to the Mifflin ground hog match April 21st, there will be plenty of people there you can talk with and ask questions. I also live only 15~20 minutes from the range, and would be more than happy to show you what/how I do it.

You don't have to wait to reload for your rifle, it's not a far jump to reload precision ammo verses as is ammo. You will want to get there anyway before you ware the bore out with factory, it is a magnum you realize.

I have had a LOT of people ask me about the RPR because they purchased the bag rider adapters from me.

Without self promotion intended, I would say that getting my front and rear bag riders for the RPR is a heck of a good way to immediately improve the ability of the rifle to shoot small groups.

I would get the Grizzly Bald Eagle cast iron triangle front rest and the 3" wide Bald Eagle cordura bag. If you purchase a rear bag I would suggest the Doctor bag with heavy sand from Protector with two stitches and slick medium ears.

I did not look at when this post was started, but there are two shooting organizations worth checking out too.

Check out the ranges on each ones website and see which ranges are closest to you and then join one. There is a wealth of information from the matches they put on. You can go as a spectator and watch and learn. I just learned recently that they are open to public. So even if you are not confident enough to shoot at a match yet, go check em out and talk to people.
