Bottom line is that people need to do what makes them feel good.
Buy or don't buy....It is an individual choice.

Yes you will. You may not stop at the current price, but there absolutely is a price which you WILL STOP. I guarantee it!

What is slowly happening is those with the deepest pockets will continue and shooting is going to suffer the same fate as hunting; it will become a rich man's game.

MidSouth is still selling and shipping at good prices. They also have limits.
Last week A-4350 $35.xx a pound 5 limit $16.00 Hazmat
Could of had the Wife order 5 ????

The problem is, none of the little guys have had much product if any at all to sell. So how does a manufacturer sell direct , before it stocks the stores?

I've never seen the "MAGIC" of Varget. I have it on the shelf and have tried it in several cartridges, but it's never gave me anything I didn't already have with other powders (8208, 4895's, V-140, V 135) etc. Ya'll can have my share......

Remember, stuff like Varget comes from overseas. It has to be shipped around the globe to get here. $6/gallon diesel fuel compared to $3/gallon diesel fuel IS going to affect price one way or another.

The little guys will always be at a disadvantage during any shortage of any product as they can't order direct from the supplier because lack of volume/capital. They have to buy in much smaller quantities from a distributer. Hodgdon is probably selling off smaller than full pallet amounts rather than shipping them as the shipping costs are practically the same whether a half pallet or full pallet. And we all know that when ordering powder for ourselves (pre shortage) we might as well order the maximum amount allowed under the same hazmat/shipping charge to lower the cost per pound by spreading it out as much as possible.

Once again, Hodgdon doesn't want to under cut their big volume purchasers. They could sell it cheaper than PV or MidSouth if they wanted to. The last thing any supplier wants to do is to fiddle around selling small quantities, that's the distributers business model. The supplier wants to sell a tractor trailer load to one buyer for one purchase order.

What if I told you that I know of Hodgson direct dealers that haven't hand hodgdon powder in 6 months. Direct dealers not going through distributors? High volume Hodgdon direct dealers!

I purchased 1 8lb jug of Varget last week from Midsouth. Came out to $42.22 per lb. With tax, hazmat & shipping. $35.85 for just the powder.

In the month of April I bought 2 8 lb jugs of Varget and 2 8lbers of H4350 among several 1 lb jugs of various powders! $369.99 per 8 lb jug with tax $400 and some change, I didn’t like it but I have plenty for a while in those two powders that I use a lot of!… That’s $50 per lb , I paid $59.99 for RL33
How much does a family vacation cost?… weekend trip up the river in your jet boat or any of the many things most people love to do?… me excluded I hate those types of activities!…. So I spend $500 bucks a month shooting….. big deal I don’t drink, smoke or socialize in anyway other than shooting I think I’ll be ok until my income goes away and by then I’ve amassed such a hoard I’ll just pace myself for a while!…
