well i guess they aren’t selling enough stamps bc they constantly operate in the red. who pays for that? if it operated as a “business” and didn’t have tax dollars supporting them they would have went out of business long long ago.“USPS employees are paid by the United States Postal Service itself, primarily funded through the revenue from stamps, products, and services, not direct taxpayer dollars for day-to-day operations. The USPS is an independent agency, a quasi-governmental entity, that operates like a business, using its own sales to cover salaries, benefits (like health & retirement), and operating costs, while still fulfilling its universal service obligation. ”
I think there’s some tax money that goes to the USPS but it mostly operates as a business, albeit a losing business.
Regarding the smoke detectors I mentioned previously, they are still moving in the USPS system. Below are screenshots of tracking. They left Los Angeles, went through Indianapolis to Cincinnati. Then they went to Arizona. Then back to Indianapolis where they apparently camped out for an extended stay. After finally leaving Indianapolis, the package went to Dallas, TX. It has now left Dallas. I wonder where it will land next? It should come to Cincinnati and then to Hamilton and then my house.I ordered several new smoke detectors for our house to replace those that are now 12 years old (10 year life expectancy and one has failed completely). Anywho, they shipped USPS insured from Los Angeles and arrived in Cincinnati. From Cincinnati they should have come 25-ish miles north to Hamilton. They wound up somewhere in Arizona instead. They finally arrived back in Indianapolis about two weeks ago and that's apparently where they sit. I have asked the vendor for a refund and will contact my credit card company to dispute the charges if the vendor doesn't respond in a couple of days.
I received a scope yesterday from Texas. It went through Indianapolis and I got a sick feeling when I saw it arrive there. But it made it through and arrived on time.
I sent out a scope on Wednesday to PA via USPS. It's supposed to be delivered tomorrow (Monday) but tracking hasn't updated since it left the post office.

if you don’t think your tax dollars fund the postal service there is no help for you. i suppose epstein ended himself, nixon wasn’t a crook and the israilies didn’t set off a nuke during the carter admin.
100% wrongthe one out of the big 3 shippers that pisses me off is the usps. our tax dollars pay their wage 100%
They need to buy these signs for the delivery trucks and lunchrooms:Our delivery driver at work, works part-time at UPS, and he said that they average 18-20 thousand packages a day, and they are now seeing 30-thousand plus coming in daily. Drivers can only work 13 hours, and when they get a truckload of 200 delivery points every day, they start coming back with stuff still in their trucks, which apparently gets no priority, it just gets recycled into the next days loading. Kid says one of the head-honchos came down last week and gave everybody a motivational ass-chewing.. which I'm sure improved everybody's attitudes ...
Yep it showed up on time and in great shape. Thanks again Bro for all u doI shipped a stock on Friday of last week UPS 3 Day Priority from Oregon to North Carolina in hopes that @Bill Norris would have it by Christmas eve which is today.
