KUDOS to the USPS

Like lots of subdivisions, ours is rife with cul-de-sacs. USPS requires a curbside mailbox. If there is anything - ANYTHING - that prevents the mail person from getting their vehicle within arms reach of the box - no mail. I signed up for the email notifications on mail delivery so I know when I get skipped. Saturday? Roll the dice...you might get lucky!

Most of that is people parking too close to your MB. Use your own vehicles to box em in.

Had a Priority envelope sent to Pa. from N.M. on Sept.9.............Just got here yesterday...o_O...Glad it didn't end up with my 2 barrels that disappeared 3 years ago.... It's a "Crap Shoot" going across the country every time.

Regards
Rick

I have a parcel some where in the system. It was sent Aug. 12 still hasn't arrived. Seller didn't sent tracking no. and now won't reply even though he's got the money.I guess all I can do is wait and hope.

Strange, the USPS doesn't ship Hazmat materials and a magazine is not a hazardous material.
Last week I was shipping a package for my daughter at a UPS store. A guy in front of me was trying to ship a small package. He told the clerk it was wooden grips for a pistol. The clerk told him, "can't accept it". But, it's just 2 pieces of wood! The response was, "it's part of a pistol". The guy walked out, I just stood there in amazement and didn't say a word.

Ups stores are the most rediculous folks in the business. Ups as a whole is real good but dont use a store.

Has never happened, but if it does it will be ok since I won’t ship anything illegal. If you use UPS instead of the privately owned “UPS Stores” you won’t have any problems with legal shipments.

If you're referring to my comments, please note: NOTHING WAS SHIPPED ILLEGALLY; the package contained ONE 10 round magazine in 6.8 SPC. USPS was the party stating a magazine WAS a HAZMAT controlled item, not me. I totally DON'T understand your last sentence unless you made a mistake in your statement.

I know that they can, but how often does UPS open your package/s in front of you?
I'm thinking 'so what?'. The wood is carved, the metal is a rod. If the clerk recognized them as grips and a barrel and challenged me on it - my answer is 'yes, they could be used for that'. In no way did I lie or make a false statement.

If the clerk had originally asked if there were any gun parts, then I'd have to say what they are.

Well, I guess you see my point. I have a letter from the Postmaster that finally tracked the package and it clearly cites "HAZMAT"; her way of justifying USPS's F.U.

I had the identical thing happen in the last month. Oddly, it was also a 6.8 magazine, 10 rounder, going from MO to KS. They could not have known what it was - I was not asked and the package was not tampered with.
When I finally put a tracer on it, I got the "hazmat" and not certified for "air carrier" email. They finally found it, sent it to Denver, then back to my post office. Then it went to the KS destination okay. A followup email apologized and explained that my PO had failed to verify the "air carrier" thing - although she said it did not travel by air, it needed the certification anyway. Go figure!

Anyway, besides that circus, basically everything I've sent or received has been flawless, including gun parts, brass, bullets, whatever.

Nope, wasn't referring to your comments. It was about UPS opening packages. A magazine is certainly not a hazmat item. How did USPS know what the package contained? You certainly did nothing illegal.

Am I the only one then that is annoyed (really, really aggravated) by the fact that you pay extra for services you do not receive and can’t even get an explanation? Paying for Priority Mail Delivery or Next Day Delivery and having a parcel wander around the country for a couple of weeks and then show up is like paying for beer and being served water - and then you’re told to like it.

Kudos given where Kudos due. I ordered a seating die from an A/S member on saturday morning. I received the die today. In and of itself certainly nothing remarkable there, except he lives in the Pacific Northwest and I'm in the Southeast. It traveled cross-country diagonally in slightly over 72 hrs.

They certainly don't all go like that - but this one did.
