USPS, UPS, FEDEX-DELAYS ACROSS THE BOARD

I shipped four packages on the Thursday the 20th of Nov, & the following day showed in transit. They were then in transit for a few more days, then in transit, running late.

Two weeks later I had the local postmaster check tracking, thinking his was mo better than mine, nope. On Friday the 5th I called to a postmaster a bit further up the ladder, & his tracking did show they were originally scanned on the 21st, which my tracking never showed. Mysteriously, that afternoon, all four were scanned again at the same hub, and away they went.

All four were finally delivered the following week.

Around here FedUp is like 3-5 days behind on deliveries, even though they’ve been working 7 days a week. USPS has been horrible the past few years but this year especially has been the worst. One of our members’ check a few states away arrived nearly two weeks after mailing. UPS has been rock solid for me. Somehow in this holiday rush and weather they are able to delivery on 5 days a week schedule which is impressive.

I understand delays due to heavy holiday volume or weather delays.what I don’t understand is when a package finally makes it to your local postal/distribution center they then reroute it to another state. The label or address hasn’t changed. I just received a package today from a fellow member he sent on the day after Thanksgiving.

FEDX is on my sh*t list. Last two orders I made were sent by their cheaper Sure Post method. They hand it off to the PO . Well I have a set of Redding dies sitting in Magna Utah for 9 days now. It's like they went into a black hole. FEDX says they can't track any farther as it's at the transfer point. PO says they can't track cuz FEDX doesn't provide a PO number like UPS does. Called the vendor and they are gonna put a trace on it. Meanwhile 3 weeks and I don't have any goods. Next step is to call my card company and file a claim... From now on it's USPS. Never had an issue that wasn't resolved with them.
Oh and the contact FEDX on the phone is a joke. Unless you like talking to AI.

Good to know that it's not just Indianapolis that's screwed up. Here's one example, I ordered a die from MidwayUSA, it shipped the next day and arrived in Indy the next day, I'm just 40 miles south of Indy. Then it was shipped to South Bend, IN, back to Indy, then to West Virginia, then Pennsylvania and finally back to Indy where it got lost. All this travel has taken place over two weeks. I had to ship a scope to someone and stopped by my local PO. While there I mentioned to the Post Master what was going on with that shipment from MidwayUSA. She took all my info down and the tracking number. Toll me no humans handle packages anymore and that must be something wrong with the shipping label. Said she'd call me later that day and she was true to her word. She was able to find the package and the next day it was in my mailbox. If it wasn't for her Midway was ready to send me another die and claim the other was lost. This whole process took almost 3 weeks to solve. And that's just one example of several items that have had similar journeys. I purchased an old Ballard rifle from a fella in Tennessee a couple of months ago and much to my shock he shipped it USPS since it was a pre 1899. My first thoughts were OMG! Not the Post Office! It finally arrived in a couple of days and unharmed but I was pretty nervous waiting for it to arrive. They've improved the post office so much over the last few years it doesn't work anymore. Looking forward to the day when Amazon starts delivering the mail. Today, it's 78 cents for a first class stamp. How soon before it's a dollar.

It’s not the holiday season doing this. A few months back I sold a stock and it was being shipped from central NC to north GA. About a 6 hour car ride tops. Took about 16 days to get there after disappearing for a while and then Atlanta(about 45 minutes from destination) and then going to Detroit, Chicago, Dallas back to Atlanta and then to another town in GA and then back to Atlanta and then finally making it to its destination. Multiple phone calls with bewildered USPS customer service people eventually got it to its destination.

Initiated a “Search Request” for mine just now. No change whatsoever since initial posting. It left my local post office 3 hours AFTER I dropped it off on December 5th and was NEVER scanned in anywhere after that. Seriously?!?!

My only complaint is that none of the shipping companies have a process to handle a "misdirected" package. If something gets in the wrong truck it just keeps getting sent "down the line" until it happens to find it's way again.

I’m southwest of Houston… had a package go from one sort center on the north side to another on the south side then to another on the west side for over a month, it was like it was tied off to the back of one of the trucks and they just scanned it as it made the rounds… the address was clear and legible on the label with the tracking number… I know they are busy but damn.
