This is my 223 wylde 8 twist from Urban, using ar comp and 69smk. Zero copper has ever came out of it and this is with zero seating depth testing. Factory savage model 12 with no other mods. I believe I will have a real shooter once it’s all tuned in. An interesting note, new to me anyways was I noticed so far that there has not been any significant shifts in impacts between powder charges or between the bullets I have tried in it so far. First ever bolt gun rebarrel for me

Got my second URM Econo barrel, this time in .223. Screwed everything together and went to the range this AM to shoot a few groups of 5 at 100 yards. Loaded up some brass with AR Comp and Berger 55s.View attachment 1398945View attachment 1398946

Super cool man. I've been sick with the flu and this made my day. Thank you so much. :)

I think those targets prove the 8 twist shoots the 55s pretty good.

I shot my new 223 7 twist yesterday. I throated it to 230 thou of freebore. For shooting the 88 Eldm. I shot 6 Tubb bullets through it, didn't clean and started shooting. Old Lapua brass and Ar Comp.

I wasn't pulling the trigger that great. Very still winds but bad mirage. Still shot pretty good.

I'll clean the barrel and try the workup a few more times.

Back from the range today. Using brad's new barrel for the Ruger RPR. It is easy to headspace and shoots great. I am going to try some different powder next time. used a2495 27.0 group good but pierced two primer cci 450. Real happy with it. Perk

Well I just received my barrel from Brad which is in a Ruger American, chambered in 22 Creedmoor. I first have to say that Brad has to be one of the most accommodating and thoughtful people I have ever done business with. Actually almost unbelievable in this day and age. I am not the most versed guy in rifle building and such, but Brad is spot on with help in any way he can provide it, in my limited experience.

The barrel was cleaned upon arrival and spun on the RA. I utilized the 15 shot Tubbs break in kit, cleaned her up, and went to working up a load for 80 gr ELDM and 80 gr Berger VLD's. This barrel obviously will outshoot my talent level as shooting ladders with Magneto on the thing rather quickly had almost every charge .5' or under. After settling on a load for the 80 gr ELDM I headed to our pit to site in at 100 and shoot a little steel. Using known velocity with Strelok Pro, which is all I have, punched in initially at 500 yards. was hitting pretty close to center of 8" plate so I decided to run a paper target down there. The attached represents the first 3 shot group taken on paper at anything over 100 yards. I drove the rig back, parked it, ranged 537 yards to target dialed and took these shots off my tailgate with a couple bean bags. Sorry not more or better pictures. With a better monkey driving this rig, I'm certain it could do better!

Brad, I sincerely appreciate all your help, talent, and attitude! You sir, are one of the good guys!

EEEewwwww....

That's nasty.
Bradley, I finely received all your stuff and its all going together nicely. I hope to test your barrel blank tomorrow, and Stock and recommend action (top secret) next week. The barrel was definitely in the ruff as they say, but the bore looks very good.

Thanks for the tip..

new barrel, 2nd group, no tuning, just some left over ammo from a match.

My nephew ordered a barrel from Urban a year or more ago for my Remington 700 LSS that had a bad factory barrel . It was 26” heavy sporter , actually a little thicker .
243 , he installed the barrel for me , worked the stock to handle heavier barrel and bedded the action and put a trigger tech in it and I put a 6.5-20 EFR on it .

I had some 107 TMK’s that I set on H4831sc , set down , first rds through the tube .
I was like wow , at 100 yds shot a bug hole group .13”
So ran another three through it , .18”
Unfortunately only had a few of them , but my nephew hooked me up with a couple hundred 107SMK’s .
They ran in the .2’s , this was incredible I thought and am very happy with the barrel .
Shot some 105 Amaxs the other day at two hundred yds , front of rifle setting on a back pack and rear being totally supported by me and after hiking 600 yds up a steep mountain to shoot in power line ROW carrying two 8-9 lb rifles and backpack
Shot some groups that ran 1.1” to 1.25” , felt pretty good with that , same load as running .3’s across a bench at 100 yds .
The last 200 yds was a steep MFer , after walking down to mark target from first group my dogs laid down about halfway up .
Felt pretty good for a 68 yr old
Thanks for a great barrel
Kenneth

Unbelievable product no matter the price.......
Heading to North Dakota in a week and your barrel will get one hell of a workout.
Great job my friend!
Just back from Wyoming. Hundreds of dead dogs out to 500 yards with your crazy accurate 22-250 barrel. The winds were humbling for us. The ones we missed were due operator error not the rifle!

When will barrels for a .223AI be available again? Got to do one of those now, the 6mm Dasher and 22/250 Remingtons I bought are sub 1/4 all day long.

I have the Remingtons on the shelf or I can make you one for another action.
