Unbendable cleaning rod do they exist?

You're comparing apples to grapes.
Am I? That's odd, since I wasn't comparing anything to anything, if you read what I wrote carefully.

My comment was prompted by anecdotes like "Several of the carbon fiber rods have shattered and impaled the barrel cleaner" and "de-laminated/shattered on me with a tight patch trying to palm tap it in". I suppose I should has prepended a "FWIW" to avoid confusing the reader.

You were comparing a carbon fiber fly fishing rod to a CF cleaning rod.

Well then perhaps you would quote what I said about CF cleaning rods (not what I may have quoted from others' comments.)

It was left to the reader to make any connection between a) a CF fly rod shattering for no apparent reason and b) a CF cleaning rod shattering for no apparent reason.

Did you really expect your CF fly fishing rod to break your fall:confused: Perhaps a CF walking stick, CF ski pole or CF drive shaft would have been a wiser choice:D

There was the  the after the last comment, but I suppose I was expecting too much of the reader. My mistake.

Read my post one last time, I'll even pare it down to the essence for you:

They're amazing but as fragile as Christmas tree bulbs if abused. By "abused" I mean one tiny nick in the outer skin and it can go all to hell in a big hurry the next time it's flexed.

I have nicks on most of my CF composite fishing rods, not one has failed, and they have helped me land many big sharks and tuna. Modern CF, along with the epoxies used, is not the CF of old.

Fair enough. Touche'!

The Tipton CF rods are completely safe. Our U.S. Military armorers asked Tipton to design and provide cleaning rods that would withstand rough treatment and hash environments. The result was the Tipton one piece CF rod with a "full tang" handle. The dog knot on the end of the handle was put in place for a solider to use the palm of his hand to force a tight patch through the bore if need be. Don't be afraid of CF. It's good, strong, durable stuff.

Thank You Denys! I just bought one a moment ago!
I will note that I was a little surprised that Midway USA and Brownells didn't seem to carry anything longer than the 44inch, yet Amazon had the 50 inch. Even on Amazon, if you just look at the Tipton rods, you will see that they stop at 44 inch. You have to look at the other entries for the 50 inch, which is listed by itself. Strange.

And if anybody is going to be doing some touche' here, it is I, Touche' (Turbulent) Turtle.

I won a pee stream sword fight with a Touché maneuver once. My dad is still mad about it 30yrs later.
Then you're a skilled orator. "Touche'" is simply an exclamation, a compliment to your fencing opponent akin to "Nice move, you got me."

Late but pertinent. One issue seen with Tipton CF rods is that the ferrules can come off. That could occur at a most inopportune time. Balance is a bit off too. CF fishing rods tend to be hollow and very thin walled. Cleaning rods are solid. Hard to compare the two. That said CF structures can disintegrate catastrophically for reasons known only to the rod. Probably some defect or "nick' in the structure.

I just bent my second dewey rod, fell against bench and stepped on it. My clutz move but now that I need a new rod I'd like to find one more forgiving if they exist. Any suggestions? I did love my deweys right up until I bent them I'd almost rather they broke, at least then I could pitch them. As they are I keep them thinking I'll find a use one day. Keep reminding me they were $40 LOL
Here is a suggestion: Your patches and/or brushes are too tight.
