Unbelievable mark up on bullets

Visited my Mom and took backroads home. Stopped at a locally owned big gun store on the way home and saw sign saying 30% off bullets. Walk over and saw 30+ boxes of assorted bullets. You can clearly see where the removed the old price tag and put the new 200% mark up price on the boxes. I have never seen this Sierra cardboard box.

I can't remember the price of bullets when I started loading. However, I do remember paying $8.95 for a pound of H4831. At that time is was "military surplus">>>>not SC or "non-sc" or any other nomenclature like that, JUST H4831.

I’m still shooting $6.50 boxes of 30 cal 168s... they date from the early 1970s.

Still got about ten boxes of Hornady 50 grsx. 5.98 a box. Found an old box of 200 gr swc priced 18.95 for 500. Wish I'd have bought a bunch more. Hindsight is always 20-20.

Those sob are from the 50’s
Old bullets like that arent worth nothing but decoration. The lead gets that white corrosion on it and spins in the jacket. You just thought an RDF had flyers in the box

Antique bullets measure, fly, and group often as antique as they're era.
Have boxes of 1990's SMK's with +.025 length indifference per box, that BC tested with +4% variation.
Have some old Hornady bullets that you could segregate a big portion of them by sight alone.
Quality in bullet production and consistency has came along ways, Thank God !.!.!

When you guys had the component shortage and it washed over to us some places didnt even mind leaving the old price on. Just scratched it out with a marker and put down the new +100 or whatever % price. We could pay and shoot or walk away and watch tv
