Tune a fish, tune a piano but tune a rifle???

1-7 twist shoot the heaviest bullets, you can, try a 79 grain
Thanks for the advice.
I have shot factory ammo and reloads from 55grs. to 80grs. through this AR.
77grs. seem to shoot the best in both forms. Consistency is the primary issue.
Sometimes it will shoot 1/4 MOA then the next group will be 2.5 MOA. with everything
else being the same.
After reviewing suggestions from this thread and other sources, I'm leaning towards
the idea that the interface between the barrel extension and receiver may be a source
of the issue.
I put all three uppers into a vise ( yes I used a receiver clamp) and tried the test of seeing whether
I could detect movement. I could not but that doesn't mean there isn't any, of course.
I have taken this AR from an $1100.00 AR to a $2500.00+ AR via various upgrades, both internal
and external. Not all of the upgrades were meant to address the accuracy issue, some, supposedly
enhance accuracy by default others do not.
I could just go out and buy a "higher" quality AR or "buy" another quality barrel like most
suggest I do but if I can make a Vega spank a Chevelle, I would like to believe I can make this
AR work....hopefully.

Thanks for the offer but I have a guy nearby that builds AR's for folks around the world, He's more than capable of doing any enhancements/upgrades I may need/want.
If the few folks I know that have Stag15's shoot good groups with theirs then what?
And no, they didn't do anything to them, shot them right out of the box and have MOA/sub MOA groups consistently.
It's either me or the rifle. Most likely me. Or both.
I would take the rifle to your expert builder and let him go over it and shoot it. If his normal groups with other ARs look anything like those posted by @LVLAaron, and he is as good a smith as you seem to think, he will give you a definitive answer as to whether it is the rifle or the shooter on short order.

I should have started reading this thread from the back. Obviously, the OP is not receptive of sound advice.
Thanks!!!
Some folks take the easy way and just swipe a card. You do things the way you like, I on the other hand want to actually learn stuff. I don't take my car to the shop every time it makes a weird noise or a dash light comes on. If you do then good for you. I have several vehicles in my garage that some would consider classic.
I bought them in either a non running condition or they ran very poorly. I took the time and effort to learn how to bring them back. They are all in top running/driving condition now. I didn't drop them off at a shop to wait for a phone call and then write a check. I fix(ed) things and made things for a living, I'm now retired but my desire to learn hasn't.

Since your capable of taking clunkers and repairing them to top running/driving conditions, then with all the information you've received here on your poorly group shooting AR15, you should be able to figure it out.
Share your results when you've completed your work, and details in what you did to achieve consistent small groups.

Update:12/23
I broke down and bought a 20" WOA 1:7 Wylde chambered complete upper a month ago.
It has definitely improved my shooting!
Shoots 1 MOA or better with premium factory ammo AND my reloads!
Working on finding the best bullet/powder/brass combo right now but 69gr. SMK's. and 70gr. Bergers with 2460 seems to be the best so far @ 0.632- 1.062 after 60 rds. at 100 yards. Very happy. Not terribly expensive but not cheap either.
