Benefits of a tuner

No, those are both drop ports, and too short for the 25 Kulzer, and i want to get started on it. This one is a B right, left, right.

Tom
I’m looking forward to the 25 Kulzer, that’s very interesting!

Separate note, have you played with the aluminum Nuevo? The concept of that action interest me.

Yes I shot it last match. It did okay Saturday and shit the bed on me Sunday. I'm sure I missed something, as I was short on data with that tune. It runs slicker than my steel one, but the steel one is shooting better as of yet.

Tom

@CA_Shooter I have a barrel for this one (1.250) with a EC tuner. My thought was 22 pound rendezvous/tackdriver type match where I travel and may find a tuner useful. Shawn came up with a use I hadn't thought of this year, so maybe next time I get a dud barrel I will try his trick.

@Jud96 Yea, this rifle is stupid good, and since it was his own and he didn't charge himself the hours.....it's not exactly store bought. I own it because it "was to good for Alex". Literally! It's the original @Mulligan ? Low pro and the rifle that he shot back to back ONE'S with....Allegedly dependent on where you live.

Tom
Its not the original low pro stock. @TZaun has the very first one. But it is one of the very first ones, maybe like #4. And the lease is up. I want it back.

Kulzer has been doing some damage with it in HG. Its too bad he missed the first match, it would be in the running to break some aggs if he keeps it up.
That's impressive! Very cool to see something different doing so well at that level of competition. 133 Berger's or custom bullets?

Yes, Bergers. Nice part is you can actually get the bullets, brass, and powder it likes. Only hang up is barrels. Not a lot of .25s in stock, and not the specs I want. But Im working on that. The 6 is king of the hill, but the closest thing to it is the .257

That's awesome it's shooting so well. It's impressive the Bergers shoot as well as they do! It's also impressive you're already seeing it be the next best thing to a 6. I'm looking forward to the progress of this cartridge and what barrels you'll be working on.

Ill ad that I am specifically talking well build accurate rifles here. Not factory stuff. Not rimfire either, as thats a little different subject.
So far I think I have read these benefits

keep the rifle in tune over temp change and barrel wear
shrink the groups over their best tune
adjust group shape
expedite the tuning process
more resistant to temp changes

Pretty early into this discussion. Its tracking with my personal discussions over the years. Very wide range of opinions.
Just found your thread and thought it would be of interest. Was going to read through it and post about my experience with a tuner but came to this post first. It's my game so I'll just read for entertainment.

I’m a little fuzzy on the size action required to run the 25x47, just to be clear , are you running a Bat B 1.3 ?

Yes a B Jim. Alex modified the ignition/bolt(full monte). But I believe it is standard on the port configurations. He could answer exactly, since this was his receiver originally, but yes, his "specs" with the reamer don't effect the length.
