Time to make the donuts....

This thread is, "going to the dogs" . . . Here's a link to some [blue box] bullets listed and sold last evening < https://forum.accurateshooter.com/threads/bib-30cal-bullets.4149053/ > the blue box 112-10 ogive (1.00" long J4 jacket) were made Sept, 2009 very near the end of blue box usage . . . up until he departed, I also printed Guy's box labels (10-X) - the only crumbs THE LION would would accept from this lowly mouse. Guy was a GREAT shooter and mentor. :) RG
Randy, where is a good place to get good boxes now?

I drove over when Charlie was first running cores. I was weighing them as they ran. The most variance he had was +- .05 grain and most were dead on. As near as I can remember he was running 46 grain cores. Tell him to please call me, I need some. Jim Bailey
And, as I think back, we might have been using my squirt die.

I have followed this thread since it started. I thought about making my own for several years and now with a replacement shoulder healing as I type and I am glad I did not spend the money on all that is needed to do it.
There seems to be an awful lot of lever pulls and just thinking about it makes my shoulder hurt.

I suppose that is one major difference between a true custom Benchrest Bullet and most others.
The individule pulling the handles and incrementally double checking each operation can make precision bullets that are identical to each other and consistent with his expectations.

I never said I don't use a custom bullet because I do, both in my 30BR and my 30x47, I just don't make them.
Actually not since last May when I tore up my shoulder, but hopefully by mid May or June I should be able to shoot again.
When we get old we don't heal like we used too. 1 torn rotator surgery, 1 complete shoulder replacement, 1 year off from shooting. To say the least, it sucks.

Made a jacket tray today from a hunk of 3/4" HDPE. Masked it with some blue painters tape, made some grid lines and did it on my trusty Craftsman drill press with a 5/16" Forstner bit. Before pulling the tape off, it looked like the back wall of the parking garage after the St. Valentine's Day Massacre.

looks good Al now you just have 5 more plates to go and to cut the angles....

That'll be a LOT handier to work with! :D But, HE says, "screwed up countin' . . .":p RG
Good catch! Thirteen rows of twenty just laid out easier for my pea brain. :p
This way, when I'm done with 5 trays, I'll have fifty 'free' ones..:oops:;) Fifteen freebees on the little one.
