Tikka T3X Varmint 22-250 vs Remington 700 Varmint Stainless ADL 22-250

OK, I finally sold the rifle that's going to fund my 22-250. What would be your choice....T3 varmint, lightly used, or new T3X? There's not much difference in pricing. I had sworn off buying any used high velocity varmint rifles, so I'd be breaking my own rules with a T3, but if there are other advantages over the T3X ???
Or maybe there is a way to get a T3 in the box?

I would not buy a used 22250 unless you just want the action. I just brought home a 223 t3x this weekend. I have 2 T3. I have to say I think the T3 is better. The T3x is only better for a bean counter. The top of the receiver doesn't have the groves machined into it (yeah i know thats for open sites amd glare). The bolt doesn't seem to be as fine of finish. The only thing that is better is the larger ejection port. I single load exclusively so this is important. Other than that, I decided I will never sell my T3 actions as the t3x is a minor downgrade. It is minor. Im OCD.

I got lucky and found a T3 22-250 with very very few rounds fired. Can't wait to get it. The seller is a great guy and has more Tikka's for sale.
Thanks to everyone who responded to this post.

Congrats please post pictures when you get it. I have one tikka and love it. One of my most accurate rifles.
I thought about getting a tikka in 22-250 but found a cheap savage axis that I have not had luck coming up with a good load (factory 50s shoot great)
Would love to hear what other tikkas he has for sale

I've bought a bunch of used rifles in my time. Years ago I bought a used Remington 22-250AI and the guy I bought if from said it was a good rifle. Turned out he was correct and honest. Its one of the best shooting rifles I've ever owned and I still have it today. I bought a used Remington 220 Swift and was told it was good. Well, not so lucky on this one. Barrel was total junk. Both were bought at a gunshow and no way to really check things out. I guess my point is its just a gamble as to what your going to get buying used. But, I've had a few NIB rifles that were a POS as well. New doesn't always mean good. Being a Tikka is a plus and if you trust the seller then I say go for it. I was told once, barrels are cheap. But I'd be willing to bet your going to be fine with the Tikka. Try some 52 grain Bergers in it when you get it. Mine loved them and my 22-250AI does to.

Tikka or a good used older Remington.... But since I don't want to take a chance on having to basically completely rebuild a rifle I bought the Tikka.... Superb trigger and action that's like it's on ball bearings.... Just added the scope and am fixing to start working a load up for it... Comes right out of the Sako plant and uses a hand checked Sako barrel.... Barrels on used rifles can be changed but by the time you buy a good barrel and a gunsmith along with a used rifle I just buy new with a warranty....

You will probably be glad you bought the TIKA. I owned 3 Rem 700. 2 bought 1969-75. Three years ago I bought a Rem 700 ADL 22-250 Varmint weight at Cabella on sale for $500 or $599? I hate it. It has a crappy tupperware stock. A Jewell trigger won't fit without removing a lot of plastic. I might put the factory trigger back in and sell the new unused Jewell. Put a 6BRX barrel on it. It shoots OK.

Boy do I hear that! I am an old benchrest guy, who believed the Remington 700 to be the undisputed, forever, king of the mountain. I still shoot a 40XBR in rimfire competition, but my eyes are now open to the possibility that there are alternatives.
If your Jewell has a bolt release, I might try to talk you out of it. I love the one in my 40X, but without a bolt release, I have to separate the barreled action every time I remove the dreaded carbon ring. It can be touchy as to getting the exact bedding fit on reassembly sometimes.
