thrill of victory, agony of defeat... teslong endoscope

In all seriousness, I have used mine to look at my eardrums.
Seen some things I'm gonna have looked into by a professional!

Found out I'd didn't clean my 243 since I used it last haha.. Bit of a carbon ring and carbon build up..

Carbon cleaners 1st

Got most of carbon ring out.. Isso to finish off
Great bit of gear

well, since the probe on mine is over 38" long, i went in from the muzzle while i had a minimum length (1.901") 22-250 in the chamber (-0.002 datum length). this shows FOR THIS CHAMBER just how much safety margin is built in before neck constricts due to overlength brass:

(only thing i'm not liking is it looks like my boreguide is letting me down.... ?)

Chop house, I have ordered one and have never used one before. Besides the pics I've seen on this site I will be learning from scratch. Can you please explain exactly what your picture is revealing and the comment about the Bore guide?

Thanks so much!

this photo is inside the neck of a piece of fire formed and trimmed brass, while in the chamber with the bolt closed. the neck is dark from carbon, and the fresh chamfer shows as bright brass. the gap between the brass and the end of the rifle chamber is substantial, demonstrating that brass trimmed to minimum leaves lots of room to accumulate carbon in the chamber. reloading manuals always publish a max brass length, and usually a trim to length. it is often stated that chambers are cut with a safety margin beyond 'max length' and this photo demonstrates that is the case IN THIS RIFLE.

the comment about the bore guide is reference to the apparent damage from the cleaning rod to the start of the rifles leade, or freebore.

That is most helpful. Thanks for the response! I'm looking forward to using mine when it gets here.

Got one from Amazon yesterday and the image has a bunch of lines going across the image. Uncoiled and straight as directed by still no joy. Using it on a Moto 6 with their recommended app. Before I return it, has anyone else had this issue? Otherwise the image is clear and well defined.
tried out my tesong last nite. Used a cheap lenovo Win 10 laptop. I didnt get any lines across image. really no setup either- i just plugged it in and opened camera program. good quality image and i like looking at the screen versus having to peer through the eyepiece on the hawkeye. I really like being able to see the whole length of a semiauto barrel without takedown( garand- BAR ect)

Been trying out my new Teslong endoscope/borescope camera over the last several days, and getting some interesting results.

First of all, my other camera would not let me take a detailed view of the barrel down it's entire length. I could look into each end, but not all the way down a 223 barrel due to camera diameter.

So, the first issue I found was rust in the bore of my stock Savage barrel, down about half way. Apparently I was not oiling well enough after using foaming bore cleaner to get the copper out. This is one very good reason to have such a fine camera!

Next was my Shilen 6br barrel that showed interesting circumferential cuts across the lands and grooves at random intervals. It shoot well, so i'm not worried about the findings.

But I also chambered an empty case and looked at how close to the end of the chamber it was. Lots' of room even though my case was within a few thou of max length.

Then I chambered a live round and looked at the tip of the bullet for centering into the leade. Quite interesting, moving it in and out while videoing it.

I'm using a Mac laptop and Photobooth program which allows me to take and save video and stills.

If I can figure out how to load one up here, I'll edit this post and add to it. 6BR barrel with endo camera.jpg

What you're seeing:

The two very dark lines are carbon streaking running down the center of the grooves, which are quite wide compared to the lands. The land is just off center, running from 11 o'clock to 4 o'clock and is highlighted by the camera's lightsource.

good ideas Txs10-- i hope people will continue to add their bore pics and comments -- ill try to figure out how to do it thanks

My Teslong arrived today. It took about a week.

What I was really glad about - and I didn't pick up from the misc posted pics - is that the camera can see "beyond" the mirror. So the field of view includes the mirror - to get a closeup of where the lens actually is - but also it can see ahead a bit.

The attached is the best example I have of this. In this pic I think the lens is at the neck of the chamber, and the ledge seen ahead is where freebore begins. I think that's how I'd describe it. Hopefully someone can confirm.

If this looks clean it's because it is. :) The chamber in the pic is unfired. I just got it from the gunsmith on Monday. I can now grab some pics to document when it looked like new.......and see how it progresses as I get rounds downrange with it.

BTW - the little case is no longer included - as per issues described earlier in this thread. There was a tag connected to the scope itself that basically said "You can loop this loosely....but don't wrap it up tightly."

Well, I think this is my first post here and I'm sorry that it's a negative one, but I wanted to say use caution when ordering this item.

After reading the positive results folks have had, I ordered one through Amazon. The add said “sold by Teslong and fulfilled by Amazon.” It said it would be delivered by the 18th of October.

It's now six days past the 18th...maybe that's not long but Amazon has no tracking information. I did receive an email saying it had been shipped via China Post. The email contained a China Post tracking number. When I enter it into the China Post tracking page it says there's no results for that number.

I tried to contact the seller through Amazon but it says Amazon cannot deliver my message to the seller because of a problem with the seller's e-mail.

I thought fulfilled by Amazon meant it was in an Amazon warehouse and that Amazon would ship and deliver it. Apparently this is not so.

I think this is all system faults, I don't believe it's a dishonest seller, and I am hoping my bore scope will magically appear one day on my doorstep. Barring that, I'm sure ultimately it'll be resolved one way or the other. It seems like a good deal on a nice instrument, just be ready to be patient!

Again, sorry for the negativity. I have been enjoying reading all the information here and i hope to share. It's just that I'm a rank novice compared to many here so my knowledge is very basic.

Just got mine today. Ordered it 3 days ago from Amazon. It came from China. Teslong gave me a tracking # and then it was changed to a DHL tracking #. From China via USA then to Canada.
And boy does it work nicely. Win 10 just use the camera app in Win 10. Android you have to download an app. Mine works great on both.

Mine is supposed to be delivered today but has not made it. A tracking number was provided but it did not say what carrier. Hopefully it will arrive tomorrow. Said it shipped a week ago.

don't despair. just google the tracking number directly and the magical internet will give you carrier options in a drop down menu. good luck.

I know it is hard, but be patient. I ordered 8 lbs. of H4350 once that took over a month to travel what should have been less than 200 miles. That wasn't the fault of Hodgdon or the seller and certainly didn't reflect on the quality of the powder.
I'm guessing that Amazon's stocked quantity ended up being sold out after your order but before your order was shipped. This means it would have had to be fulfilled by the manufacturer or waiting for replenished stock. Delivery time from China is a crap shoot. I know it sucks, but the wait will be worth it.

Exact same thing for me, but mine was supposed to be here yesterday...

I've heard of new forklifts taking a long time to be delivered because the truck driver was using them to get loads on and off the truck.

I hope your bore scope isn't being held up by a delivery man doing amateur colonoscopies.

Eww...

I succeeded in contacting Teslong and received a reply. It seems a shipment of items did not clear customs and was sent back, and they have switched to a different carrier to avoid this problem in the future. They offered to refund half the purchase price to compensate. I do not feel this is necessary. They also offered to let me cancel the order but it wasn't clear if the item is in transit to me now, or has yet to be shipped. I did inquire as to that, and we'll see what their reply is.
