This will bring a tear to your eye !

Miss that place. Pushing a cart through the warehouse. Hated to see it go. Got my first 22 there. Spent a ton of money there. Still talk to the previous owner occasionally.
I was never there but the wife was. We stayed at the Casino on Rosebud and I won like $700. So I asked the wife to go down there while I was shooting Prairie Dogs and get me a tall Harris Bi-Pod. She brought me a catalog too.

When i started in 1974, bullets and powder were about $8-10
and national minimum wage went from $1.60 to $2.00 an hour that year. It's easy to look back and forget how little we made per hour. Even with todays prices I can still afford things much more now than I could back then. What bothers me is how much was available through catalogs to be shipped to your house back then that is totally gone now.

Yep, the "good old days". Frequently were not that good.

I remember gas wars back in the late 60's, $0.20 per gallon. We could fill up the car and the boat for less than $10. Of course the car had a huge V8 that got 15mpg on a good day and about 13mpg towing our little ski boat. Taco Bell tacos were $0.20 each and would go on sale for ten cents.

In 1975 the Colt Python was $375, which was more than half my monthly pay as a new LT. My first car payment was $150 which was also my rent for a 1BR apartment. Motel 6's were $6 per night, Holiday Inn's were $10. A fully optioned Firebird TransAm was $4500. A Ferrari Dino was $11,000.

1975 was also the year of the huge gas shortages and prices went up over $0.50/gal! Had to wait in line for an hour to fill up, if you could find a station with gas.

Mail ordered a lot of stuff from LSB. Sure hated when they were gone. Have yet to find any other place that carries what they did.
Opened up a NOS of 1lb Unique just last night, had. “Gibsons” price tag of $9 and change.

Only 17 years ago! They're now over $400 whenever I see them.
I have Three Mosin's , and one is still in original Parade Rifle condition . One has been built to a full custom F-Class rifle with .308 barrel , and one is a Long Range , "First Shot" rifle . None of them could be "touched" for $400.00 . Sorry .

Did a gaggle of business with LS&B starting when Jim Van Winkler owned the business and same when Jack Joesph owned the business as well.

Jack Joesph re-located store in town to a bigger store a few miles west of Valentine on highway 20.

I live within 130 miles of LS&B. If I called first thing when LS&B opened product would be on my porch by 5pm that same day. Quite often LS&B folks would answer phone before and after posted store hours.

Great folks that loved what they did and knew what OUTSTANDING customer service was all about.

Finished these 2 up over the weekend. Trying to follow my New Years resolution of using my old stuff up first. $20.00 for the 215s and $16.95 for the 210s.

my first reloaded was a mec 600 in 1974. I bought a 10lb cardboard keg of Win 473aa powder for $30 buck. The same store would run ww209 primer on sale for $5 a thousand.

Looking back is always brings nostalgia. For instance, I bought a low time American Champion Citabria back in 1975 for $7500. It needed a paint job but that's it. I saw one like it in a magazine full of airplanes for sale. Their price was $105,000. New ones are $150,000. ish. So, one has to look at how much they were making when prices were what they were and that pretty much does it. The retail world is made to extract as much of the money we make as it can.
