>>>>>The SECRET.... 6.5 CAROLINA LOAD<<<<<<

Just an update on the carolina load. I went to help a guy sight in a new deer rifle scope so i decided to take my creedmoor and decided to mount a new to me 8.5x25 leupold to try and needed a load so i looked and the only comparable bullets i had was 140bthp hornady. The carolina load shot 10 into 1/2” where the 7400 30-06 shot about 6”. The carolina load works well

142g Nosler is designed to expand at 1200 fps. We found that this 142g bullet is accurate, easy to tune, and really knocks a hole in a deer. Bullet is on the softer side, core is bonded to the jacket, massive expansion. If you don't like running deer, this bullet should be on the "must try" list. My brother and cousins have gone wild over this bullet in 6.5 and 7mm because of the terminal damage it does to deer, and no runners yet.

I bought a new Howa barreled action CM,.6.5 and been waiting on a stock when I ran across this post After reading, I loaded 20 rounds starting at 43.3, 43.7,44,44.3. Bullet was a 140 ELD-M, Federal 210M primer and Hornady brass. Bullet seated 2.800. The stock got here and I got it on along with mounting my optics. Then headed to the range. The first two rounds, 43.3, were shot at 50yds and pretty much cut the same hole. Then I moved to 100 yards.Last three of the 43.3 was a little over an inch. Then shot the 5 rounds of 43.7 grains. Group opened up to about 1 1/2 inchs. Hmm, not good but it is a brand new rifle. Let it cool and shot the 44 grain loads. Three in one hole and two in another hole, maybe 7/8 of an inch. Looking better. Then all that was left was the last five with the magical load of 44.3. The first three cut a ragged hole then the fourth made it just a little larger. One bullet left. Oh crap, we all know how hard it is to get five in a ragged hole but WTH, let it fly. It just made the ragged hole a little bigger. The first 20 rounds through the rifle and may have a load. Thanks to whoever came up with it.

Great post Psycodog, I'm going to try the secret load next week. Crossing my fingers.
It truly does work.
I'm putting together 2 OCW tests for my nephew.
1 Carolina load
1 superformance, only cuz I have the powder and I'm donating components for his 1st round of load development
Hornady brass
Wlrp
140 vld's
Probably shoot it this weekend out of his Howa precision rifle

Anyone tried it beyond 100yds and if so what are the results?
My load with 44.8gr and 140 elite hunter shot a 1.2 inch 3 shot group with about .5 of an inch vertical dispersion @ 300 yards. Gusting winds and smokey. Shot at 1:30pm, 90°
Wife let me off work for a couple hours to go to range with my buddy Mark Skaggs.
Had to take her to lunch afterwards. I hate testing when rushed, but was pleased with results. 15651032438993277487056661200719.jpg
