Thank you somebody on this forum

A few months ago I began reading a thread that I can't seem to locate now. So to whoever it was that was talking about using H-4350 in their 6 Dasher, thank you; it works beautifully in my 6BRX. And the info couldn't have come at a better time as I was getting low on Varget.
I am putting together an article for my blog on this but just let me say that in four 60 shot mid range matches I have agged three 600 cleans and a 598 with a 70% X count average for all 240 shots. If I was a little better wind reader that X percentage would jump to over 90%!

Thanks,
Rick

Congratulations, Rick. Nice shootin'. When you get a chance, would like to see your load data.

That is good to hear that it worked for you. I just did a test with H4350 in my dasher and I found it to work well. I was getting groups in the 2's at 600yrds before I have done jump testing. I ended up with 36.0 for a charge. We have been using it in a 22br with 32.5 and it works very well.

Thanks for the complement we have several of us using H4350 in our dashers one is using 37 gr most are 36.4 or 36.5 ti like hearing from shooter that at least try.Are you using wolf m primers we all are.
Good shooting Larry

Savagedasher yes indeed thank you!

Just so you know my load for the BRX for the last five years has been between 32.8 and 33.0 grns of Varget. What really caught my interest, aside from having some H-4350 and getting low on Varget, was the expanded burn window with the slower powder. It just made perfect sense; intensity of burn spread out over more steel equals better throat and potentially barrel life. After working up this new 4350 load from 35grns to 36.3, I settled at 36.1 as the best for my 1-8 Krieger .237 with mollied 105VLD's. The primers look great, performance is equal to my Varget loads, velocity is right at 3000 fps and it is a hammer load.

Rick

Edited to include Wolf SRMs were used.

I have used it for f.fing 6brx cases, it worked great, I use H-4895 for my competition loads but I have always said and still say it, if I could only have one powder it would be H-4350. Nice article Rick,..thank you for sharing,
Wayne.

The group in this photo below contains a total of 10 sighter's and 60 shots for record fired this past Saturday at a 3X 500 yard match at the Phoenix Rod and Gun Club. Since we only had eight people we shot a two relay match with each relay firing all three strings in a row. Scoring was done in the pits as we had a blow off period prior to firing three strings of 2 and 20 for record. The gross score is a 700-52X's net score was 600-45Xs. I definitely own the excessive vertical; were I able to hold better it would be a heck of a lot tighter. The 6BRX load used was 36.1grs. of H-4350 pushing mollied 105 Berger VLDs jumping 80 thousandths out of Lapua cases on their 10th firing. Primers were Wolf SRMs. Current round count on the four groove Krieger 1-8 .237"X.243" barrel is 2460

This picture is worth seeing instantly. Just let me know if you want it removed. I couldn't see why.

I will definitely try this load in my BRX. I might be trading some Varget Powder!

Thanks for posting that!

Must be a reason Tubb settled on H4350 for the default propellant for his 6XC a decade ago.

(I've raised some folks' eyebrows insisting the 105VLD's shoot great jumped up to 0.030" (max I'd shot 'em before realizing this was 0.065") & here you are saying they shoot great jumped even more!)

Thank you Dennis, I couldn't figure out how to put it up! I can't say in all honesty that the H-4350 is better than Varget on target but if the expanded burn window does in fact equal longer throat and barrel life, I'm a fan for sure!

Steve, I have been shooting the 105 VLD's since early 2006 in both a 6BR and BRX; I'm now on my fourth barrel and have never had an issue with jamming or jumping. Each new barrel I have loaded to jam slightly and then somewhere around 2000 rounds I check where I'm at and maybe let them out a bit. My first barrel was still shooting after 4000 rds (6BR) and was jumping over .100".

Great target From what testing and shootin i have done with H4350 i think maybe you can add another tenth or maybe two tenths and get rid of what little vertical you have.
Good Shooting
Larry

Maybe Larry but I honestly feel as if the vertical is all mine especially that annoying group of six shots between four and 6 oclock. I have been struggling with an odd oscillation in my hold that develops late in nearly every string and if my timing is off that's where they go.
