A Thank You to GRRC Harris Minnesota

I want to say thank you to Steve and his wife (sorry I forgot her name) for running a well run match. Also to those that helped. Pat Scully for running the pits and Bob E for the help on the line. Also thank you for the meal Saturday. Much appreciated.
It was my first time at the GRRC. I shoot f class open. First off I want to say the range is great! Very easy to get to, great people to shoot with and very tough competition. If you haven't been to Harris please try to make it some time. It's not the BSWN but then again what really is? Match was unlimited sighters 3x20 at 1,000 on Saturday and then a 2 man team to follow. Sunday was also unlimited sighters and 3x1,000. Where else do you get that much practice at 1,000 yards?
Thanks to all for a very well run match and hope to see you again.

Agreed, Steve Naumann is really doing a great job as HP chair at GRRC, lots of improvements to the range and matches. All of the LR matches at GRRC this year have been 3 days, including a Friday warm-up/fun match that is not included in the agg, which I really like. Looks like there will be one more LR match the first weekend of October with 2 days of Palma course for both sling and F-Class. Come on back over Jeff, and bring Seabiscuit and some other cheeseheads along with you!

Yep, GRRC is first class operation. ALWAYS a fun time there, one of my favorite venues.

Erik I was pumped when Steve mentioned possibility of another Palma weekend end of Sept./early Oct. (I WANT that 448 I missed @ MWP!!)

If I can't make SOA (ends weekend before) this'd be a shoe-in for a substitute!

Eric, the downside to that October date is it's the last weekend of nationals in Lodi. I think it'll probably be a low turnout as I believe all the F class and TR guys will be there battling it out.

It was a great match, with tricky conditions. Only 2 200's shot with sling I believe? Not sure if any were shot in F. Great facility and tough competition. If you haven't been to Harris MN, it is a great venue to checkout.

Specially when the winds are at 6 or 12 o'clock. Does anyone have results?

Mia Rhode's blog will have 'em Wednesday; I'll post a link (though it can be found elsewhere here in that Palma Alliance thread).

I wanted to get on home yesterday, didn't catch a pic of the widescreen Steve & his better half were using for leaderboard this weekend.

And yes, headwinds at GRRC - like yesterday's - can fool the best.

It's an interesting range to shoot on. Specially when the winds are at 6 or 12 o'clock. Does anyone have results?
Keith yes both days had switching headwinds. It took a while to wrap my head around it. First match Saturday with a new gun and barrel I thought OH Crap this thing isn't what I thought it would be. Then I had pit duty. After the 3 in the pits I realized it wasn't my rifle it was me not picking up the condition causing the vertical shots. The other 2 on my target shot vertical shots also. I get out f the pits to score Joel and that's when I picked up on it. Definitely a tricky range. But even when I'm getting whooped on it's still a great group of guys to spend a weekend shooting with. John Rhykas won open class. I'll try to post f class results.
Sorry sling shooters I didn't get a picture of the other side of the screen.

I wish more cheese heads would show up at that match for f class. I'm thinking of crossing the river and hanging out with the cool kids more often.
