I've run shooting matches on a small club level scale and a few bigger matches that were NRA Regionals. I've got a pretty good idea how much work would be required to run a match the size of the Berger SWN. Many hundreds and thousands of hours. Few want to bother with even running a match with a dozen shooters on a Saturday afternoon.
I decided to start a thread to give a shout out to the Desert Sharpshooters and all the people involved in putting this match on. I hope it gets the responce it deserves.
This year was the third time I've been able to attend and I'm always amazed at and impressed by the amount of time and effort that is put into this match. And while no match is perfect, there are always improvements that can be made, and there are always going to be folks that you just can't please no matter what you do, the people that put this together so that we shooters can play at a major match, in the dead of winter for many of us, is something that should be universally applauded.
We always see threads congratulating the winners. How about we congratulate the people that make it happen?
Thank You!
