First I hope everyone got home safely from a very good IBS winter meeting .
Next I want to Thank everyone that supported me for the secretary’s position on the E Board for those that didn’t I thank you for your continued support of the IBS . I’m looking forward to working with some great men and women inside the IBS if it’s anything like this weekend it’s going to be a blast .A lot of things where put in motion this weekend that everyone will get to see as we move forward . A major event has been scheduled that has been in the making for a long time stay tuned as the rules for the 1st annual Tack drivers show down will be held in SC near the end of the shooting season. The implementation of the factory and tactical classes in both 600 and 1000 yards more information coming on that as soon as the Long Range Committee get them finished up. The big hit of the weekend seem to be the excitement of offering the lifetime membership again. The online voting is going to be a great tool for our shooters as we move forward . In the next week or so you will be receiving more information on that in the mail .I want to take this time to Thank President Stover and everyone that has worked behind the scenes to make this finally happen . When it was all laid out to us it’s unbelievable the man hours this project took.
To everyone that has served with me I want to Thank You for everything you have done the last few years it’s been a pleasure to have worked with each of you. To the new members of the LRC from the outside looking in this is a impressive group of men that love this sport and want to grow it bigger and better and I see this group doing just that any of you would make a great chairman and whoever that is will have a great time looking ahead because the future is bright .
I have truly loved shooting long range and will still make that my game of choice but Donna and myself also look forward to doing some short range shooting this year as well I feel like it’s a must for me because I truly want to understand all areas of this sport .
I got ask this weekend how did me and Donna do all we do well to us that’s easy we love doing it I can honestly say that I’m a lucky man to have a job that is not just a job it’s something I love and it doesn't mater if I’m Fire Chief or Fire Service ISO consultant at the end of the day I love helping people and most of all love saving people money that’s what drives that passion. Weather it’s hosting Turkey shoots or running IBS matches I’m the same way I love the people and love the feeling of watching everyone having fun. I would have never believed that Donna would have loved the shooting and reloading side of this game as she does and it’s just as much of a thrill to me to see her win as me winning. I know this has been a long post but I feel it’s needed for the shooters in the other disciplines know something about me if Im going to serve for them. The biggest joy Donna and my self has happen the last season and will continue my nephews son was born with Down Syndrome and Donna had her gun painted to show support for Down Syndrome awareness and shooting for Milo who would have ever thought the doors this would open for Milo and us . This year alone Shooting for Milo has raised nearly 3,000.00 . I’m finished now and I hope you know a little more about me than you did before and know that I will do my very best to serve each of you and help grow this sport. I know I can not make everyone happy and that’s fine with me but that doesn’t mean I can’t try. Look forward to seeing each and everyone of you soon .
