Target backing boards

I belong to a private range about 500 members, for target backing boards we have been collecting political signs after elections and using those, unfortunately they don’t last long particularly in the rain, have any of you guys seen anything better ether home made or purchased?
thanx

The private range I belong to uses the political sign material, just in larger 4x8 sheets. They don't last long enough to rot at this range. After 2-3 weeks it's hard to put up a target for all the holes using a staple gun. Some members resort to masking tape, etc.

Our range uses Buffalo board for various reasons. It holds up pretty well and it doesnt't need to be taken to the landfill. It also takes staples well.
Get several sheets and cut enough pieces to have spares.

The ranges I belong to use 4mm Coroplast in 18" x 24" white sheets. We buy 100 at a time from Beacon Graghics. Used to cost $.99 /pc. Now has gone up to $1.59. I know of nothing cheaper other than collecting cardboard. Shipping cost is reasonable if you purchase the smaller sizes. The big sheets are hard to justify the shipping cost.

The very best backer as used by the IBS for registered competition was known as Homosote. Our clubs last purchase about 5 years ago it was around $60/ 4' x 8' sheet. We have since been informed it is no longer available. It did not fare well if left in the weather. We only used them for matches.
