Strange, I can spend 20 hours being artistic, Machining on the Lathe or
doing a Fine Oil painting in front of the Fireplace
but from too many years of being a Welder/Steelworker
I do not have the patience for wood, carpentry, or vehicle painting/bodywork
Making a stock looks too much like bodywork and vehicle painting

Meaning:
Even though I might have the skills and ability to do this,
--- I would rather pay someone else who can and has.
 
Model 1 from Carvermaster if I remember correctly.

It works well, but certainly has it's quirks. Like most things, you learn as you go and most issues can be worked around.
 
Regardless of wood, we can all agree it will be the best looking piece in this thread. I'm looking forward to the opportunity.
Your work looks pretty stellar from where im sitting.
Curly maple is limitless in possibilities for finish using dyes, walnut i like to stick mainly with colors already present in the wood.
