Tack Driver Showdown Preregistration form and rules

Attached are the rules for the "Tack Driver Showdown". These forms will also be uploaded to the IBS website. There has to be a 160 gun limit due to hours of daylight and number of benches at the range. The first 160 applications I receive with the deposit will be guaranteed a spot and I will have a small waiting list if necessary. Camping spots are limited at the range and you need to call me at the number on the registration form to reserve a spot. I look forward to a great match and hope you can make the trip! Thanks JC

before this gets too far, I would like to address rules added for ar's.
the last time someone tried an ar class, it died because the rules were written to fail.
just like br rifle have little in common with hunting rifles, target ar's have little in common with tactical/mil/ blasting ar's
I single load my target ar's ,fed from a SLED.
no magazine
there is no rule requiring bolt gun to have a brass catcher, so why ar's?
because you assume the worst.
simple rule for all rifles:
"your brass may not land on another bench, nor may it touch a competitor above the knee."(pick a spot but I have seen bolt gun brass fly and hit the next competitor)
the bolt of an ar is only slightly longer in time to remove than a bolt gun.
option,
chamber flag if bolt not removed from any rifle.

All of the above is fine! I cant allow brass to fly on another bench to distract them. The chamber flag will be if you don't take the bolt out the gun. SAFETY is the main concern and I would like to encourage EVERYONE that wants to shoot that ability. The AR's can compete against all other AR's or if they want or stay against just the other gas guns. That call will have to be made BEFORE their first shot is fired.

The applications are piling in! don't procrastinate if you want to shoot in this match. I only have 5-6 camper spots left.

Where are the rest of the rules? are you going toe allowed to go back to the sighter?and why no spotting scopes?.... jim

forend width? You need to get all the rules on the table....No surprises when you get there.... jim
Why don’t you call me and I will answer any questions you have. Wind flags are allowed, no maximum width on stock width.

I have never seen a "no spotting scope" rule in any benchrest. so why now ? ( some one in the rules writing has a high powered scope on their rifle and young eyes ?)
if I want to use my time looking thru a spotting scope, why not ?

Maybe they fear that someone that can read the mirage has an advantage over their sea of wind flags??.. I was told it was a time element, now compared to setting up 300 meters worth of wind flags... it is a joke..... jim

Hahaha, the only people showing signs of fear are the ones finding excuses to NOT show up and shoot...

At a local match here in W.Pa. as a spectator you can not use a spotter for fear of the spotter making calls for the shooter. There are no sighter shots in this format, just 6 shots on target and the best 5 are record.....I can't get there much for the match.....I prefer sighter targets and I like watching others shoot through my spotter,

Regards
Rick

I’d love to do this but I don’t think my 6PPC or 30BR are ideal. I feel like the guys with long range guns will win the day.
