I think one was all Texans get .250" off each and every group.
That probably ain’t enoughI think one was all Texans get .250" off each and every group.
I'm sure that is not necessary.I think one was all Texans get .250" off each and every group.
Spotting scopes will be allowed ON the bench. They have to be ON the bench or attached to it, can not be on a tripod between the benches. The tie breaker will be figured differently and will go to the highest place finisher in either group or score.
So I go spend $4500 on a scope dedicated to this one Match, that (might) have glass good enough to see through the mirage, and you change the rules now to allow spotting scopes?Spotting scopes will be allowed ON the bench. i will be glad to let you put that thing on my rifle if you want.So I go spend $4500 on a scope dedicated to this one Match, that (might) have glass good enough to see through the mirage, and you now allow spotting scopes?
Jim is allowing it. Just not your tripod. Attach it to the bench. So I go spend $4500 on a scope dedicated to this one Match, that (might) have glass good enough to see through the mirage, and you now allow spotting scopes?
That’s hardly the point.Jim is allowing it. Just not your tripod. Attach it to the bench.
You can try to persuade Jim to let you use it.That’s hardly the point.
Its a scope. He is allowed to use it.You can try to persuade Jim to let you use it.

Yep, this is it here.I am sure everyone is aware of the different matches across the country that are duplicating the Tack Driver format to some degree. I now have been contacted about someone doing one across the “BIG” pond! It is in the works to hold a similar match in New Zealand! This match and the interest world wide is one people are noticing and is great advertisement for the sponsors of the “original” Tack Driver! Thanks everyone for your continued interest in bringing all disciplines together no matter what organization you belong to and enjoying yourselves at “The Family reunion” of Benchrest competitors. THE MATCH THAT STARTED IT ALL AND OFTEN IMITATED, BUT NEVER DUPLICATED!
Personally, I think having a big cumbersome spotting scope on the Bench is going to be a real hassle, especially in the Group Portion. I have seen first hand the logistical problems, everybody is pretty hectic trying to get their equipment off the bench so the next relay is able to get their’s on. And Jim doesn’t screw around. You better not hold up the program.
So it is just my opinion, I think allowing spotting scopes on the Bench will simply cause more head aches than the idea was thought to solve.
I will be there regardless, trying to conquer OrangeBurg. I will also continue to offer my support of the TackDriver, which I know Jim appreciates.
