What led you to creating this match format that has gone viral? Have any sanctioning bodies expressed any interest in its adoption? Kudos to you and all that help with match prep and its operation… it has become a classic in very short time!

The actual idea was created by Jeff Stover and Harley Baker 10+ years ago. Their idea was to see what the most accurate cartridge in Benchrest was. I came up with the format of group and score on my own and the distance to appeal to all shooting disciplines. The PPC(group) and 30BR(score) cartridges are running out of gas past 300 meters and that’s where the higher BC bullets and other cartridges start to dominate. My idea was to use 300 meters as it is a longer distance than normal and the long range guns can also shine and shoot well at that distance.( 6 BRAI has won 33% of the previous tack drivers and always have a gun or three in the top 5) This match has taken off globally for various reasons as it can be won by any shooter from any organization with any caliber from a 30 to a 22. This match to me is a family reunion of shooters no matter what banner you shoot under or what discipline you normally shoot! EVERYONE IS WELCOME!
TREAT PEOPLE FAIRLY AND SHOW THEM A GOOD TIME, THEY WILL ALWAYS WANT TO COME BACK!

Hope to see you all at Tack Driver 7!

The Tack Driver has quickly become my favorite shoot of the year. Where else can you shoot with, converse, and learn from the best of all disciplines and sanctioning bodys! We had “Hall of Fame” benchrest members, world record holders, “shooter of the year” winners, Nationals winners, several members of the USA Benchrest Team, I believe one Canadian BR Team member, USA F-Class members. All benchrest santioning bodys were represented. IBS and NBRSA Short Range Group, Score Long Range (600 and 1000 yard), UBR, Ground hog match shooters, snd Steel Shooters. With all the quality shooters there, the atmospere was laid back and enjoyable. Food was phenomenal. Jim Cline runs the match like a well oiled machine. Jim missed his calling as a stand up comedian. This match is an absolute blast! Not only were there great shooters there, but many sponsors were shooting and having a great time with us. Got to Meet Pat from PMA Tool at supper this year, a couple of years ago I finially got to meet Jeff Pinehart of Stamoly. Absolte great guys! Thanks to ALL the sponsors for making the match a first class event!
Congratulations to Ben Brubaker for winning the “Overall”. Ben has shot great all year in UBR, just recently setting a couple of UBR records! Dick Powers won score after having a great year at IBS Score. Speedy won Group, he has been around for ever. He caught on to the Tackdriver pretty quick after not so great finishes in past TackDrivers. Congratulations guys! You beat the best of the best of all diciplines!
