Swampworks JLK VLDs

Has anyone had any experience shooting small to medium sized game, Deer or antelope ,with these? Specifically .264 caliber. Same jacket and design as original bergers just wondering if they would work as well. I do notice the smaller meplat diameter ????? :)

If it will put a hole in an animal at the right spot it will kill it. Which I expect they will.

Bergers and Sierra MK's work well for hunting, so why not the JLK's? Judging by the lack of replies on this thread, you may be the first to know ;) the entrepenuer so to speak...

Well I guess no one has any first hand experience, so I will find some antelope doe in the fall for test medium. First shot should answer any questions.

I am sure I asked that question when I ordered my 7mm several years ago. I was told that there shouldn't be any problems. I have used Berger target hybrids and boat tails and cannot tell a lot of difference from the hunting bullets. I have probably killed my 10 or so with target bullets.

All of the13 kills with my 6.5 rem mag have been with 140gr Berger Target VLDs. The target bullets have worked so well for me that I just keep buying them. I have 400 of the Hunting VLDs because I got a great deal on them, but I have not taken an animal with them yet. And I won't make any kills with the Hunting VLDs until I run out of the Target VLDs because that's what I know and trust so far. But I'm sure the Hunting VLDs will prove to be just as effectiive.

Yes I've shot several animals with the 130's and 140's. I have been shooting animals with jlk's since back when Jimmy was building them. They work flawlessly. I've shot deer, elk, bears, and antelope with them. I've shot bears at long range 500+ yards and as close as 60 yards, and the bullets performed great. Nothing I've shot has traveled further than 20 yards.

I have shot both Bergers the Hunting VLD and Target VLD out of my 7 mag on paper, they shoot to the same point and group size at 500yds. Sorry to get off the original question, never tried the JLK's

Thank you sir. This is all I need to continue forward. I got a small sample of 130 gr jlks to try out. If all goes well , I am getting more.
The smaller diameter meplat had me concerned but if they work they work.......
