I like most of Colin's stuff.

There will always be a form for anything from the 1930's law unless that law is overturned. Suppressors, short barrel rifles, shotguns, class III, etc.

What I'd like to see is to get rid of the Class III tax as well. Forms requirements are fine, but, the tax is just another gov't over reach.

Then put a leash on the ATF so they can't act like storm troopers and it will complete the process. That was one agency I wish DOGE had deleted as well. Leave the enforcement to the FBI where it belongs.

Make it something that is totally unregulated! You don't have to beg to get a new muffler for your car? Why should you need it for this? Most all of Europe has been OK with buying a suppressor over the counter, the blues would be screaming if they had any bad stories about unpapered suppressors killing someone, they aren't.

There is in effect a registration, in that the silencer can only be purchased for a rifle on the owners registration card, and is then listed on the card along with the rifle. Handguns? Don't make me laugh.
