Starline Brass Suggestions & Mfg. Response

They make a BASIC cartridge with a 223 base. I am not sure how long it is, but I looked at it to make 5.56 x50 RWS. So it should be long enough to form 47mm

Not sure why, I was hoping it would work.
223 brass is 1.76 or 45 mm long and 222mag is1.850 or 47 mm long . you could use 223 to make 222Mag . But it would be .090 short and would cause a bigger carbon ring in your barrel and they are hard to get out and that carbon ring will effect accuracy big time .

Makes me curious if they would make it slightly longer if asked, I doubt it but it might be worth asking.

I found it interesting that Starline makes 357 Mag brass for Norma, with the Norma headstamp

Asked them about making 22 ARC a while back, either got a no reply or they had no plans. Not a surprise, they probably got burnt by 224 valkyrie, and don't want to go down that road again.

They will probably get there soon as they already make 6.5 Grendel brass, so the ARC cartridges are just a neck down from there.

I just emailed and attached this link to Starline. I hope to get a reply. When/if I do, I will post their response.

Thank you all for contributing! :cool:

This is the reply I received from Starline;

Thanks, Mike. I do appreciate not getting bombarded with emails! Most of the calibers on that list aren’t something we are working on but some are (don’t let anyone get their hopes up for Bee or Hornet brass).

they sure don’t make all of it for hornady or they would have 218bee brass and hornet brass. My experience with both has been nothing alike…hornady has been soft and inconsistent and star line has been great.

I had a Hornady Tech tell me one time that they do have different sources for their brass that was produced to their spec’s.
