It has to be longer . Why whould they only make it for the 223 lenght ?They make a 223 case that is unformed, not sure it’s link enough for 222mag but the link will take you there.

Not sure why, I was hoping it would work.It has to be longer . Why whould they only make it for the 223 lenght ?
223 brass is 1.76 or 45 mm long and 222mag is1.850 or 47 mm long . you could use 223 to make 222Mag . But it would be .090 short and would cause a bigger carbon ring in your barrel and they are hard to get out and that carbon ring will effect accuracy big time .Not sure why, I was hoping it would work.
Makes me curious if they would make it slightly longer if asked, I doubt it but it might be worth asking.223 brass is 1.76 or 45 mm long and 222mag is1.850 or 47 mm long . you could use 223 to make 222Mag . all that I have is 1.76 same way with 222 it should be 1.70 but all the new brass that I have is 1.96 . I don't like to be more than .010 shorter than the chamber max.
Asked them about making 22 ARC a while back, either got a no reply or they had no plans. Not a surprise, they probably got burnt by 224 valkyrie, and don't want to go down that road again.
Hornady ran 218 Bee a few months ago, I bought some for my Ruger #1.Yes, 218 Bee. No one has it, no one makes it, and it sells. I'd buy a TC barrel in Bee if brass were available.
I love the No. 1!Hornady ran 218 Bee a few months ago, I bought some for my Ruger #1.
Does Starline make brass for Hornady?I love the No. 1!
IDKDoes Starline make brass for Hornady?
I don’t know either. But as I stated in another thread, I just purchased some new Hornady 25 Creedmoor brass and the inside of the necks and everything else sure said it was Starline from my experience .Does Starline make brass for Hornady?
I had a Hornady Tech tell me one time that they do have different sources for their brass that was produced to their spec’s.they sure don’t make all of it for hornady or they would have 218bee brass and hornet brass. My experience with both has been nothing alike…hornady has been soft and inconsistent and star line has been great.
