Starline Brass Suggestions & Mfg. Response

Mike in Oregon

Gold $$ Contributor
Today I represented the varmint hunters of this forum. I emailed Starline as several of us have in the past, to suggest what WE would like to see. I thought it might be a good idea to share and for those who like the Starline brand, might contribute to this thread. I recommended several common commercialized cartridges as well as some wildcats. As for the wildcats, I asked them to at least consider the parent cases and from there we could form our own. If you would like to contribute to this thread, just suggest what all you would like to see them make. I'm hoping for several pages on this thread so I can cut and paste this link and send to Starline so there aware of our needs.

Forgive me if I choose the wrong forum. I wanted to blanket as many of us as possible at once.

Mike...

I sent an email on April 8th asking for some specifics on the difference between their 223Remington brass and their 5.56x45 brass and as of yet have received no reply.

Hopefully your experience will be better.

I used the contact link provided on their web page.

I am one of those avid varmint hunters. The only thing I need is availability and quality of the so-called legacy cartridges. At the present time that amounts to the 223 Rem and 243 Win.

Same here. Right up front they will tell you they are not able to answer every email in regard to brass suggestions. Thats why I want to try doing it this way.

Well that's not what I'd hoped to hear concerning the Starline 223/5.56 failure thread, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

I've emailed Remington several times in regard to 17FB and 221FB brass. Not one reply. This is one of the reasons I'm wanting to suggest Starline get on board due to availability, out of stock, keeping up with demand, overpricing and so forth. However, specifically asking about one of their pieces of brass and specs on it, I would think they would get back to you in a timely manner.

I actually did the same thing a few months ago by emailing them inquiring about 6BR brass offerings. They replied back to me a few days later saying that they had no plans to add any other cartridges to their lineup. Pretty disappointing to say the least. I was hoping for a cheaper alternative on brass for my 6BR for when I just want to ring some steel, not trying to win a benchrest match because the rifle is so fun to shoot.

You're killing me!!! ;) If that's the case, and I hope it's not. Why would they offer to hear our suggestions?
