Some from the snare lines.

Been working a cattle ranch that's calving and has coyote problems all around their corrals.
This area has a year round flowing creek that snakes all over just outside his calving corrals and the coyotes have at least 100 different approach areas. The one he has me concentrating on where many new borns are in for a bit is pretty good so far. 7 confirmed killed, 3 by snare, 4 killed night calling, 2 chip shot misses that left me banging my head, 3 run offs that were low stomach hits & made it into the deep/thick willow shrubs that are thick along the creek & fingers. Never found those even with blood trails that diminished.
I cant put traps just anyplace due to calves and cattle in most of the other great looking spots. I see coyotes each night in the thermal but cannot shoot since they have been to mixed in the with cattle.
A lot more to remove.
From the other night and its on the wrong side of the fence (cattle side). Smelling the spot from last weeks caught coyote?

A pair of nasty mangy ones, caught 30' from each other. The male was pushing 40lbs naked.

Nice big female.

This may be a coon, to fuzzy for me.

No wonder how my snares have been triggered, coon traps going in this weekend!

Thanks for posting.

I'm interested in the "chip shot miss's"....not that it's ever happened here, hehe.

Rush the shot?Which for me isn't a speed thing but a breakdown in the routine.

Between you job and all the hunting/trapping, you even sleep outside?

Great stories and pictures as usual. Enjoyable.

That's awesome 5spd!! Excellent post!! We use honey buns in our 'coon" traps. Keep up the great work!!

All missed chip shots were coyotes that all of a sudden popped out of the willows, trotted right in front of me at less than 40 yards then right back into the willows. Not once was I even ready for them even though I should of been, but that happens. I was alone each time thermal scanning in the opposite direction.
