Removed another 3 males last night within an hour. All came in on their own as we sat on a medium knoll above a drainage in the cattle pastures as they came along. I had the caller out and stayed away from constant/loud calling, play and mute within a few seconds when we saw them coming our way to peak their interest. 2 of the 3 were from the same group, 1 came in directly as the others stayed back. Dropped it and the others spilt back into the willows and popped right back out in a very short time, played feeding coyote to say hey I got food. 1 then circles about us out at 700 yards or so and pops up below us, thwaaap, 2 down in the same spot. Their partner just went a yapping for the other 2, but it decided to go back from whence it came.
15 min later another one comes out of the willow lined creek mousing within the cattle, cant shoot when its doing that, played mouse distress, it looks our way and goes back to its dinking safely with the cows so I mute the call and let it do its thing. Takes maybe 10 min before its working its way to us, comes across our trail we walked in on, does not faze it at all and now finally clear of cattle and into the creek bottom it comes up where the other 2 are laying, it stops and I drop it. 3 down in just 58 min, cant complain. We move 2 miles to a dead pile and drop a female in that spot, 4 down.
Only 1 male was worth saving as the others had bad flank hair/rubbed etc.
