Smallest 100yrd 5 shot group

My best 100 yd group at a registered match was .080. My best group with a LV weight 308 Winchester was a .108 (that was an exceptional 308, but like most 308's, it was tough to shoot well. recoil was definitely an issue). There is no question, my best groups were always four shot groups! Friends often asked if was wearing a choke collar, as there could be no other explanation for all my errant fifth shots. WH
I always knew, and counted on, my 5th shot to throw out of the group
For years and years
I did not consider myself even "Good" until I started putting the 5th shot into the groups.
maybe some guys have an inherent natural ability to do this without thinking about what they're doing
for me, it took learning breathing discipline, slowing the body's respiratory system and controlling heart rate
Luckily I have a naturally Slow heart rate (42-60 bpm) and when i take a deep breath
...it goes wayyyyy down quickly
Part of breathing discipline is... "NOT" holding your breath, otherwise heart rate quickly escalates and you will naturally tend to hyperventilate to compensate, which just screws everything up and you must start all over again

Savage 10T-SR I bought at cabels for little under $500. Slapped a Vortex Gen ll Viper PST 5-25X56 in seekins rings. Did a ladder test and this is what I came up with. Got too excited and pulled left on the last round. BTW this was at 200yds almost forgot to mention that.

What was the load used with the 2015?
Nice group!
I don’t remember. We loaded off a Harrell’s measure back then. I would say around 29-29.5 grs. I still have a good bit of two different lots of 2015. I would say they are about a grain of powder different one being slower. I really don’t shoot it any more. I don’t think that I will. If you or anyone would be near Fairchance PA and would be willing to give me a little for it. I’d probably sell it. Two lots I probably have 3lbs of each. I think, I haven’t really checked.

Well Guys..and Gals. Maybe one of you could tell me what this might be? I shot 5 shots 100 yds with my CPA single shot ,Shilen Barrel. A 316 grain Borton -Darr Mold cast 25-1, sized at .322. Velocity 1350 FPS...a screamer! the bullet hole is sitting inside the .323 scoring ring. any help appreciated ! LOL This now is my tightest group, beats out my Custom Miller ! Leupold 35X

Measuring c/c between the meplate holes I get .025........

Another entry for the .22 rimfire but not exactly to the specs…

10 shots at 100 yards during an F-class match on the A-33 Target. 10-ring is 1.045” for reference.
  • 2500x action
  • Jewel trigger
  • Shilen 1-16 barrel
  • Harrells tuner
  • Cerus stock
  • SEB Joypod & Bigfoot rear bag
  • Nightforce 12-42 scope
  • LAPUA Center-X ammo
This was my sighter target. Fired 6 shots and went for record. When I was finished with the record bulls, I went back and added the last 4 shots for giggles.

I am impressed
That is also something I like to do to check for consistency
not just for my load but to double check my method/shooting discipline
is come back later, to my sighter and see if I can put another round into the group.
You got it down!

To date this is the tightest group I've shot with the ODCR Hart Model 1 "Uncle Bill" 30BR and it was directly after zeroing the scope with previously loaded 112 gr. Bart's rounds for the Rem 700 30BR. Planning to do some loads specifically for this rifle soon. But, for now it has made me proud with no issues shooting these loads.

Standard Blaser R8 Professional.
Lightweight hunting barrel. 6x42 Zeiss scope.
No modifications to the rifle at all.
Just straight out of the box. One quick ladder test, then shot this group.
