I just find the website to be really clunky. I can always get to where I need to be, but sometimes it's painful. I went as far as to locate an old PDF version of their catalog so I could have part numbers on hand prior to going to their website, just so I could speed things along. Different strokes, but that website doesn't do much for me.

Since the merger, I do not use Sinclair or Brownells much, lately more than usual. I get 2 emails per day from them, truthfully, do not need more, the big book hits the trash can.

times are changing.5.00 gets you the new master catalog 70.i keep mine in shop,use computer in house.its not just brownells,sinclair etc.all the motorcyle industry doing same.alot of them is putting catalog on cd discs.cost,and the tree huggers shut down the loggers who cut the tree for the paper mills etc.bitch all ya want,pay 5.00 or use the computer.

they send me a new catalog and i never pay extra for it- i guess because i buy enough

I use the online catalog for ordering at least once a week. I find it very helpful and quick.

Wouldn’t it be better to suggest everyone all write a letter, spend money on an envelope and stamp, then walk it down to the post office?

I have been involved in catalog production. Printing is the least of the expense. Design and layout is a massive time and money vortex. I like printed material as much as anyone but I see no way a catalog would generate a net positive anymore.

oh i dont know. once the catalog is setup they could use it over and over and just add new things. sinclair used to do that. brownells sends minicatalogs out anyway and so why not make one a sinclair catalog.

yeah looking through the catalog for new stuff - i used todo that with brownells catalog- to big anymore for me to do it

It is nice to know what new products are out there. Hard to search for something you don't know exists. The thing is it would be easy for them to make printable editions online, especially sale fliers and new products. Matt

My 2¢ I'm partly old school. I use the big catalogs like Brownell's to cover the registers in my reloading room. There's enough weight there to keep it from lifting up. The lighter weight ones go in the recycle bin. Been surfing the web since '85 so catalogs for me are not on my reading shelf. Besides that, catalogs don't tell you if the items are in stock, out of stock, backorderable or not. From my perspective, making up a list and then finding out they're not available is a major waste of time. YMMV

Here is my thing, I only visit a online store when I'm looking for something specific.. Like many shooters and other buyers, we are impulse buyers.. A catalog with sale items and new gizmos to make things easier catch our eyes.. I like a good catalog better than a magazine.. I do know many old timers that don't do the interweb..

I agree with you about the Web,lots of folks either don't have a computer, don't want one or have no service . Very handy out at the two wholer were they serve double duty....LOL

Well I for one end up buying more from them when I have a catalog. I browse thru it to find "stuff "I didn't know I needed. Then I go online and order them. Yes they will lose sales from me with no catalog. Not that I'm mad but just from the no browsing. Love Sinclair but not so much with brownell's.
