Signature and ID for Fedex Shipments?

When You pull out your ID ,be sure it has someone Else's name on it and Your address with a photo of one of your State representative's .

IF anyone says anything tell them your checking the integrity of their system ; After all YOU have a LEGAL RIGHT TO PROTECT YOUR IDENTITY FROM THEFT
I cover my license number with a piece of tape unless requested by a LEO… name/address already in the public domain and my pic ain’t pretty!

The poor delivery issues by FedX must be caused by poor management in different areas. I have never had any issues with FedX in this area even after living and getting deliveries in several locations.

Fyi : ALL of YOUR information has already been transacted with whom ever YOU made the purchase with and the delivery company regardless of who that might be , ALREADY HAVE ALL OF THAT INFO in the bill of lading . So what possible purpose does the delivery company have ,asking for additional personal info !.

I hope You can understand where I'm coming from on this . I see this as GOV. 1 illegally accessing electronically shippers ,in order to acquire a specialized data base . It WOULDN'T be the first time our Gov. has SHAFTED ALL OF US !!!.

I like the "Cover Your D.L. #" idea.

When Fed Ex delivers your package Your NAME and ADDRESS are on the label.
Proving You is You for Hazmat deliveries sounds reasonable.
I understand that you can show but not scan and have the driver enter your name manually.
I have to SIGN for some deliveries.
Now, if I order some powder and the wife is at home can she accept the package?

Their software verifies you are over 21 but doesn't capture your birth date. Huh?

Just had this happen today. FedEx said he needed to scan an ID because of the hazmat delivery. Strange thing is that I have been getting powder and primers delivered for months and this is the first time they have requested an id.

New requirement.
You should be able to show ID and have the driver manually enter Name and DOB.
Just noticed, this is the second thread on this topic.

next time I'll just show my DL on the phone app LA Wallet.
Kind of hard to scan from a phone image.

As I understand it this applies only to HAZMAT shipping.
Hope you didn't pay for hazmat for pistol ammo.

I AVOID FedEx as much as possible!!!!! TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE service here in central Louisiana area. Just took possession of some powder I had ordered. Took them 3 tries. I was home every time they came. They would NOT knock on the door the first 2 times.......got all the action on my security cameras. Reported it the first day, nothing was done about it. They blamed on it "contractors".

UPS is much better here......and believe it or not USPS does an excellent job here locally.

I got primers delivered by FedEx a week ago.
The driver just asked what my name was.
Most FedEx home delivery is done by contractors in our area.
Not very good service.

Ammo is not considered hazmat.
This new policy applies to any delivery that requires adult signature. If I send you a package or a check in a fedex envelope and pay for adult signature required services, then this policy applies.

It says government issued ID. This is gonna be fun. Ever see a pilots license? It’s US Gov issued and does not have the pilots photo on it…. Orville and Wilber’s picture is.

or a military ID. I suspect FEDX machines will not read it. There is no address and I doubt FEDX has access to the embedded data…..but it is US Gov issued.

Please Santa, send me some HAZMAT.

Just got a shipment today & had a nice talk with the driver. No photo ID was required. No driver's license. Just a scribbled signature. He kinda knows me, but doesn't always have this route anymore. I'm usually here but the doorbell doesn't ring since I disconnected it & I'm often in the basement making noise or out cutting grass or something. If I leave a note in the door with a signature, he's good with that too.
