Shipping rates

BTW this is a crock on reporting drivers now make 170k/year. It's false "advertising" like normal by the media. Same as the air conditioners. I'd be willing to say my center won't see a rig with ac in the next 5 years maybe later and they are only added to brand new trucks. So again UPS saying we're getting them....eventually one day.

Actually it’s not a crock the new contract for a full time driver is $49 per hour which equates to $101,920 per year. Add in the cost of the additional benefits and employment costs and you have the total compensation of $170,000 per year.

Yes 49 in year 5. It'd be great if it started and stayed there for 5 years. Unfortunately it doesnt.

Shipping rates have not only gone nuts in the US. Here in Canada what use to cost $10 to ship just 2 yrs ago is now in the $23 range. Just crazy.

Local PO says First Class Letter to Canada, $32.00??? WTH???:eek:
Damn near get a plane ticket for that much $$$.
Sent it normal, got there in 5 days. ;)
And sending ANYTHING back to Canada for a refund? BEND OVER!!! (VAT)
You can SQUAK all you want. Still have to pay. Twice, so I know from experience.:mad:
Don't buy anything from Canada. (and think about returning it) Problem solved. ;)
And shipping costs? Gas in Nor Cal just hit $5.35 a gallon. You expect the shipper to eat that??" Never gunna happen!! If YOU were the shipper, would you?? Not thinking so.

Several people on here mentioned Pirate Ship. I signed up the other day and used it to send a die to Forster to have the neck opened up a bit. It worked well and I saved a few bucks.

Last place I worked at shipped out 1-2 semi trailers of product every day UPS. We got a massive discount on shipping. It depends on the volume you ship is what you pay. When you ship a lot you can negotiate the charges.

I know I shipped several firearms at work and a pistol overnight one time. The pistol was like $12 overnight to Texas from Iowa. Rifles in hard plastic cases then in a box were around $15 to ship in the lower 48. Shipping at the terminal was crazy high prices.

Now I just use USPS as I don't work anymore. But yes the USPS is starting to get crazy high
