Midway announcement about lower shipping rates.

I got the same e-mail.

My thoughts? Business must be slowing down. It was inevitable.
I went to a small, local gunshow early this past Sunday morning ('bout 9am) and got to visit with several licensed dealers that were there,,,, guys I know. Business IS slowing, at least in this part of the world. A very low turn-out and people aren't buying, unless it's a 'give-away'. The only guys selling were selling at cost and then they weren't 'setting the house on fire'. Lots of stuff there, some fairly priced, some way over priced.

Gun shows are almost always over priced, I never (almost) buy at gun shows.

i use to do lots of biz with midway...notice i use to.
both as a buyer for another company and for my company.
they use to have wholesale pricing....
they magically dropped my biz account 2 yrs ago..no explanation of why, and then the beginning of this year they dropped all wholesale.
and i quit doing business with them..
they have amazingly fast shipping for me..we are both just of I70...i could order sat/sun day and have product on tuesday.

i currently do biz with graf and son,and a few others and will look at bullets.com in the future.

too little, too late in my opinion......

Damn, I bought 4 bricks of Fed. .22s for $26.50 a brick and a couple of pounds of Benchmark for $25 a pound. Guess I got "taken", again! (no, they didn't give me a 'special' price) The licensed sealers I spoke of price their stuff the same as at their shops. Not "over priced", but expecting a reasonable profit. The over priced stuff was at the "private sellers" tables and some 'dealers' I don't know. Varget for $50/ lb., primers for $45/1000, used rifles and handguns for more than you can buy new. As for MidWay,,,,, no thanks. As I hold a FFL myself I'll buy wholesale when I can.

A welcome move by Midway....keeping shipping prices competitive was a much needed action.

I got the same e-mail. And was glade to here it.I have no choice but to buy off them at times.(if only they have what I need). But never had any bad experience with them yet. But I will say bullets.com has the best prices and the most fast shipping.

For the most part, I try and use the vendors that support this site, PV, Midsouth, Bullets.com, Graf's etc. If I'm buying something from Amazon, I go here first and click through the link. Graf's, Midsouth and Bullets.com have been good on shipping costs.

I didn't know about using Amazon through the site, I do use it now though..
