Look at sniper history in Nortthen Europe, there’s a long list of female snipers, some who have an impressive resume. I know in my own family my three girls are deadly and give my four boys a run for their money and often out shine them.

We’re lucky in this country that we have always been an ocean away from where the conflict of the World Wars took place but things are changing, if we ever experience conflict here, in our own streets and homes, you’ll see a whole bunch of female snipers. I can see how some wouldn’t support female snipers, wouldn’t want my own girls enlisting but circumstances can change outlooks fast.

Look up the female Ukrainian sniper they call the Joan of Arc. She
had over 40 kills when I read her story last year. And do a little reading
on the Israeli female war fighters trained as snipers. Quite a few countries
have them trained. Jegerttroppen, is a Norwegian all female special forces
hunter group.....Yeah, this is a good thing !!

If someone can do the work, give them the credit they're due.
Are there some things people can do better than others? Sure. There are a lot of skillsets needed to be good at a thing, I find a lot of women are much better at reading the room and assessing the disposition of other folks, probably by virtue of the fact that a lot of them just have to do that a whole lot more than others. Are those skills useful in war? Yeah probably really useful, evidenced by thousands of folks doing it successfully. Are there other areas that might be more difficult? Sure.

I'm not a big fan of saying someone can't do this because we want to hold up some romanticized thing that doesn't exist and frankly probably never did for the vast majority of people.

Killing folks isn't something we should aspire to mold anyone into along any particular line, most folks couldn't do it, and that's perfectly fine. If someone feels called to walk the path of the warrior, that is for them, and if they can do it, its not my place to say they can't if they clearly can.

As an ex-sniper, I can tell you it isn’t just about the shot but the setting up for that shot and the escape afterward. Vietnam was totally different from what I understand about WW II. In one you generally had a defined line separating forces while in Vietnam we and “they” were every where. Not saying a woman couldn’t have done it there but I never saw any women snipers, maybe they were well hidden.

That is one reason they have been assigned marksmanship duty in other militaries, as they were considered expendable and didn't need upper body strength often required on the squad level.

After all, Men have been running this country for as long as most Men can remember so maybe a little change might be a good thing.

Not necessarily. And often these types of physical skills lack combat conditions for testing evaluations. I wasn't trained in the firemen's carry or any other extraction carry nor were any others in my unit trained as such. But me and others had to, from time to time, carry someone to safety. I doubt it is a part of the US Army Sniper School requirement or qualification. Yet it is another example that many veterans, both male and female, would be concerned with.

The last time I was in California was in around 1998, and from my perspective it had already changed beyond my tolerance level. For me it started in around August of 1967 when I had to leave California for several decades to evade the results of an incident. Pretty state, I just cannot deal with it any longer. And although I would agree California has it's share of "where Women are Women and so are some of the men", they certainly do not have a lock on it, as it has spread nation wide!

Way more. No reason a woman couldn’t do the job as history has proven again and again. I know plenty that are great soldiers, hunters, woodsman, etc. I had a cousin who could sneak up on anyone in the woods.
That said if she is ever captured, especially in an Islamic country, we all know how that will work out for her. She’s a grown woman , though, she knows the risks and can make that decision.
