Shaking my head unable to put into words how disappointed I am with our country and military. Are we so dumbed down by the idea of equality as to think this is a good thing?

Maybe…maybe not, I know a lot of women that can be ruthless as a man, and I know several women that can out shoot the majority of men..not saying I’m for or against it.. just saying..

There were female snipers long ago, one real famous one visited with Eleanor Roosevelt, Lyudmila-Pavlichenko.

Sounds like she went through the same program as every other sniper. Unless there's some proof of favoritism or her sleeping her way to certification; what's the problem?

So, women arn't good enough??? Maybe if this country was run by a QUALIFIED Woman, we wouldn't be in such bad shape?
After all, Men have been running this country for as long as most Men can remember so maybe a little change might be a good thing.

I know some women that are exceptionally skilled, talented, emotionally balanced, and physiologically stable that would and do make for excellent warriors. I can say the same about men. One big difference is the percentage. There is a larger percentage of men than women by a large margin. There is military duty these exceptional women are better suited for, but not all special services.

On the other hand, I have observed in our younger generation a trend to flip the norm. It seems we are raising men to be girls and girls to be guys! Not to disparage women with this reference, but we may be raising a generation of sissies.

All that really matters, the military has changed since 2009, the changes have not made our military branches better/stronger. In fact it appears that the world thinks the U.S. is weaker and unstable, this alone puts our God given rights in jeopardy.

I am a combat veteran with experience leading men and women in various roles including policing and swat. I have seen grown men cower and weak men prevail in bravery. I've also seen women do things that are not natural to them. My inclination to believe that women are givers of life and shouldn't be made to be takers of life is not of ignorance. They deserve to be protected from death and destruction. What civilization can survive by sending our daughters forward as our sons stay behind in relative safety?

Very fair point. However, this woman volunteered during a time when enlistment is down. Is she doing a job a man typically does? Sure. But I'd rather see her doing this traditionally male job than changing her name to Michael and insisting she is a man.

In a culture of death there is no concern for innocent women and children. That's islam and humanism/feminism/marxism for ya. Our culture is supposed to be different. We are not supposed to be like them that use women and children as cannon fodder.

I can admire her for trying. Many don’t or won’t try to begin with.
But on the other hand, I’d be curious how she deals with a 100 lb kit. Or PTSD should she find herself in a conflict. Peacetime now, but the world is only 5 minutes out from sucking the US into yet another shathole….

I don’t believe in free rides. If she does the work, she gets the credit.

I have the utmost respect and admiration for ANYONE who tries to better themselves, even a small amount. Too many today are content with just riding the train of life.
To the new sniper, I say "You go girl"!

For me, it’s not about percentages, it’s about opportunities. I know some badass country women that hunt, fish, trap, clean their game, reload, etc. One is also an EMT riding / driving an ambulance dealing with gunshot wounds among other things - there are lots of women EMTs now. If women want to attempt sniper school I wouldn’t want to stand in their way, and I’m grateful that they want to serve in any capacity they are qualified for. I support them having the opportunity to do any job they have the ability to do.
