Shot my first ever sub 1" group today at the inagural IBS 600 yd match at MSSA. It was a .981" and was CENTERED for a 50 score!!

Tim did not rub off on me even though he was 2 benches away.
We want to see a pic of the screamer. It was a beauty!!!!
Congrats Tim. You worked hard this winter working up your load.

A fellow from Birmingham Al won first place group, his first name was Bill, and a very nice guy. Charlie Macke won heavy gun group and score. Overall winner for top spot in 2 gun was Stephen Hall first place. We had a super day for shooting, and was pleased to see the shooters we drew for our first match of this year.

0.981", centered, at 600 yards?

Holy mother of mercy.... That is 0.156 MOA!

Wow.

Is this with the 6BRX again. Still annealing after every firing?

Tim, you're really on to something. Congrats again.

For those who missed what Tim's BRX can do, watch this video/slideshow:

Same 6BRX and yes sir still annealing every time. There were several small groups shot, I believe in heavy Stephen Hall was awarded small group with a 1.4xx" My .981" did hold out for the small group of the day. I was a proud Papa!!

What bullet, powder & primer, Tim?

MOA= "minute of angle"
1 degree of angle= 1/360 of a circle's circumference
1 minute of angle = 1/60 of a degree of angle

circumference of a 600yd radius circle = (2 x "pi"(3.1416)) x 600yd = 3769.92 yd circumference

1 deg of angle = 3769.92/360 = 10.472yds

10.472 yds = 376.992 inches

1 minute of angle (MOA) = 376.992/60 = 6.2832"

a .981" group at 600yds = .981/6.2832 = (H#LY $H*T)= .156 MOA...
AT 600 yards with wind and heat mirage and whoknowshowmany little flying insects that might potentially disrupt the bullet...then there's the whole idea of pulling the trigger when the crosshairs are at EXACTLY the same spot (...give or take 1/10th the thickness of the crosshairs) EVERY TIME...after you've really done your reloading homework for about six decades... Not Bad, I'd say!
