I’d like to see pics of your wrenches if you can. I like ol timey and weird hand tools.No. Bad choice. Plumbing job maybe. If I didn’t have the right size. ( unlikely)
Not only is it a guarantee poor fit, most folks pull with it on backwards.
But then again, besides one other member, I have wrenches most people have never even seen.
Never even thought of that! See, I learn something every day!I have the Northland action vise and it works fine. But, you have to remove the scope mount every time you use it. I'd rather have the internal one shown above. I don't use a barrel vise with the Savages.
that's where I got mine Bugholes, they chamber barrels for me also, well made wrench I have 2 defiance actions rems and a couple savage works on them all no problemSir, here is a nice one that fits several actions.https://www.bugholes.com/product-p/r700-bug-aw.htm
Sure. I can PM them to you if you’ d like?I’d like to see pics of your wrenches if you can. I like ol timey and weird hand tools.
What I have and works great, got the short 'wrench' too.Contact James at Northland Shooters Supply and order their action wrench designed for Savage actions. They provide instructions with the wrench and are available by phone to answer questions.
How is that used? I'm imagining the wide, flat end is held in a bench vise and the action is slide over the end with a flange. But, what keeps the action from turning when tightening the barrel? And, what is the hex looking nut at the end used for?Sir, here is a nice one that fits several actions.https://www.bugholes.com/product-p/r700-bug-aw.htm
