Thanks George that was my guess too but I don't like guessingMy guess is, do you have any more comments or questions concerning his 82 BR rifle? Remember, it's just a guess.

I have a 1968 Rem 513T that I shoot with a scope in a local Vintage 22LR Match at 100 yds. Rules state the rifle must have been in production on or before 1968. I'm shooting against Winchester 52A's and B's and other assorted rifles. I usually place in the top 3, so my take is if you are a decent shooter and the gun hasn't been abused, the 513T will put you in contention against the other good vintage guns of it's era. Also it tends to like Eley Match and Lapua CenterX. And it also seems to like Norma TAC22. Go figure. Although the Norma tends to group well it will also give you the periodic "score-killing flyer".
My recently acquired completely original "US PROPERTY" stamped 513-T was built in April 1940 and is exceptionally clean with a "like new" bright bore and unmarred wood Your post gave me considerable confidence that it will fulfill my expectations when I get to take it out for the first time. I plan to start with Wolf Rifle Match and . Wish me luck~!I have a 1968 Rem 513T that I shoot with a scope in a local Vintage 22LR Match at 100 yds. I honeslty haven't shot mine much since the 90's. Maybe I'll get it to the range one of these days. Since you appear to be anxious to keep your discussing going, here's a few groups I shot with mine years ago. Each set had one fouler group to the left of the two you see. I didn't have much time. I wanted to shoot it against a borrowed Anschutz 1413 position rifle and it started to drizzle. So no cleaning when changing ammo. Just a 5 shot fouling group followed by two groups for "record". Did the same with the Anschutz. Both rifles shot very similar groups with each ammo. These were shot at our 50 yd range. The white inner square on the target is a 1/2"Hmmmm~! Looks like there is little interest in the early 513Ts built for the U.S. Military. Somewhat disappointed~!
WOW and thanks~!! Both your comment and target are unbelievably encouraging.Your 513-T will shoot better than about anything factory made today, Tikka T1X or CZ 457 MTR..., it's one reason they are not allowed in factory ARA competitions, they shoot too good for that class. On the other hand, it won't shoot good enough to be competitive in the unlimited class. Yours being a U.S. Marked rifle, has no real bearing on how it shoots, just makes it different and more collectable to some people. I have not owned a 513 but I do have a 540X, which uses the same action as yours but is a single shot. Mine will shoot about like what Pat has posted, and sometimes better and worse, depends on the ammo, conditions, moon phase and all the other things that make .22LR so fickle at times. I like mine using peep sights. Shot one of the best groups ever with a 540X. 7 shots, that was all that was left in the box.

If it doesn't work too well, you can use the receiver insert from a Rem. 510 (single shot sporter version with the same action) if you can find one. It has a loading platform made as an extension of the receiver insert. View it here in the middle of the following page: https://www.gunpartscorp.com/gun-manufacturer/remington/rifles-rem/510I just found and bought a single-shot adapter for my 513-T made of hard composite material on a digital printer. It's made to used in place the original magazine. Haven't used it yet so can't comment on the quality, useability, or practicality.

Unfortunately the Numrich schematic listed under 510 is of a 512~If it doesn't work too well, you can use the receiver insert from a Rem. 510 (single shot sporter version with the same action) if you can find one.
